I read the other reviews and I was nervous about making this. I don’t use body lotion so I’m not sure how thick or thin it should even be. I kept getting interrupted so I switched from stirring with a spoon to a hand mixer. Still getting interrupted, I lost track of time and I even forgot that I wasn’t making a dessert. Key point is to pay attention! I ended up with a thick whipped cream type of product! Luckily, I had a lidded container I could put my whipped cream into! And luckily, I wasn’t making much. I must have whipped this stuff for 30 minutes including interruptions. I might actually even do it again—this time on purpose.

When I first read the reviews, I was nervous because others had commented on the base being too watery. Working with this base requires patience. My first attempt turned out extremely watery but fixed itself on my curing rack. My next batch was whipped slowly with a spatula which helped maintain the viscosity I needed. Overall, I am very happy that this base did thicken up when massaged into the skin. My advice is a low and slow mix will make it feel watery but the absorption keeps the skin well moisturized and a little goes a long way( if you are using bottles as your containers).

Hello. In my first 2 batches was very watery. I stirred by hand in both. On my third one, I stirred like 15 mins by hand and 15 mins with a mixer. The lotion turned like floffy, thick, with better consistency. The fragrance mixed better with the lotion. Hope this help.

The lotion is thin, But it has great coverage i like it, just watery.

I brought the Stephenson Aloe and Shea Unscented Lotion Base kit. I admit the base was a bit watery. I followed the instructions after I mixed the F/O . I stirred for about 15 mins so I wanted to make sure, I didn't see any traces of oil I wanted my base and F/O blend well together. I used my stick blender I stirred about 30 mins after 30 mins I added mica for color and I blending another 30 mins after 30 mins of stirring I added my lotion to my bottles still looking watery so I placed my lotion on my curing shelf . The next morning I checked my lotion I tested one on myself, I was very satisfied that my lotion wasn't watery at all, It actually looked like a store bought lotion. My advice is, who has issues with the lotion base use a stick blender or a mixer and keep working till you get the result you want.
