If we had to pick one wax for all makers of any experience level, CandleScience Coconut Apricot Wax is it. Through extensive research and testing, our lab has developed a user-friendly, single-pour container wax that makes it easier to achieve the strong hot throw and smooth tops found in luxury candles. And, the cure time is just one to two days!

This wax features the ability to create multi-wick candles in containers with diameters as small as 3.25”, which elevates both the aesthetic and fragrance intensity of your candle line while minimizing your costs. Learn more about how to calculate your costs in our article on How to Price Your Candles.

Benefits

  • Luxury apricot wax blend
  • Elevated multi-wick aesthetic
  • Single-pour with smooth tops
  • Excellent hot throw
  • Minimal frosting
  • Good color retention
  • Enhanced UV protection

Our custom blend of apricot, coconut, and soy includes a UV additive that protects candles from yellowing and dyed candles from fading due to light exposure. Our formulation minimizes frosting, allows for bolder use of color, and the inclusion of paraffin is key to this wax’s strong fragrance throw.

Candle Maker's Notes
A unique feature of this wax is that a traditional melt pool, where the wax is fully melted to the edge of the container, isn’t necessary. As long as the wax continues to melt and slide into the wax, the wax will be fully utilized.

See our lab notes for details on how to conduct your burn testing.

1 lb Heat-Safe Bags
Our custom wax is offered in 1 lb heat-safe, BPA-free bags for testing. No metal pouring pitcher is needed.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Too much soot with a single wick? Try double- or triple-wicking with smaller wicks. Containers with diameters larger than 3.25” will likely need more than one wick.
  • Wet spots? Warm your jars before pouring your wax and/or pour your wax at a warmer temperature.
  • Visible striations or layers in your dyed candles? Pour the wax at a slightly warmer temperature.
  • Trying to find the right wick for your CandleScience Coconut Apricot Wax candles? Our Wick Guide will help get your testing started.

easiest wax to use
Daniel 2026-03-25

this is the second wax I’ve used and now the only wax I will use… I started with coco/soy 454 and really had a learning curve with the wood wicks… this wax is the opposite it burns quite easily with a 10% fragrance load and I had to downsize a few of my wood wick pours. I just ordered the CD 6 and AL 110/140 recommended wicks to try though I do love the crackling sound and charred scent wood wicks add.

Absolutely Amazing

I've tried many waxes over the years. I always went back to igi comfort blend because of the awesome cold and hot throw. I could never quite get the comfort blend to not soot and smoke. This wax beats the cold and hot throw of the comfort blend, has a similar gorgeous appearance without the soot, and with less scent oil. 'm in love with this wax. I'm addicted to it.

Amazing

All I can say is amazing. Tedious to handle but its worth the little hassle it does cause when its in slab form. This is officially the wax for my business ! Great job candlescience

My first love

This is the first wax I ever used when I first began candle making. It is a dream. It does have some considerations that should be noted. This fragrance isn’t good for straight citrus or light scents like ozone, bamboo or light florals . It creates a luxurious experience but can mute softer fragrances and volatile top notes. Now when it comes to heavy more viscous fragrance oils, coco apricot is that girl. Gourmand, resinous, vanilla heavy, and woodsy scents do very well in this wax- sometimes likened to para soy. With these heavier fragrances, you will need a moderately hot wick like a CD series. LX also does well for me. You aren’t likely to get a full melt pool by the 2nd hour or even the first burn. But the 2nd burn is much hotter and any walled wax will catch up, so don’t give up too quick if you think you may be underwicked at first. Also, the cure time can be shorter for HT, but I’ve noticed waiting a good 7 days before wick testing makes a significant difference. A struggling wick may turn out to be perfect after 7 days, and a perfect wick may prove to be too large. I heat this wax to 200 and pour in most FOs at 190. I incorporate the FO keeping the temp at 185-190 while stirring. I don’t let the temp drop while stirring and pour at 160-165 depending on the temps in my environment. I don’t put on a lid on them for 36 hours. I’ve never gotten sink holes, jar adhesion is perfect, and tops are always level and smooth. My collection still features this wax but only for certain FO. Candles science has quality FO, a luxurious wax needs a luxurious FO. Happy Candle Making, Folks!

Awesome..!

This is the best wax I have tried so far..! I am still in the testing phase of my candle business and I am really enjoying it. This is exciting..!
I decided to start with soy wax (which is not a bad option) but after trying this Coconut Apricot wax, I immediately fell in love with it. No issues with sinkholes, beautiful surfaces and stronger cold / hot throws every time. I am barely starting in the candle business and I am alredy worried thinking about suppliers discontinuing products... I really hope Candlescience does not discontinue this wax nor the 12oz tin containers..! Fingers crossed..!
