Good alternative
Nissa 2025-11-13

Decided to try this wax with the 464 being out of stock, I like it. Love the 2 day cure time. It’s a great alternative in a bind.

Does have sinkhole and air pocket issues. But the adhesion is spot on. Not a single jar has “wet spots”. (I heat my jars too)

I tried many different temperatures and pouring it seemed 160 degrees was key but still had some sinkholes and air pockets. I was even able to get advice from candlescience support which was amazing.

However, even when I get a smooth top, I poke to check for air pockets so the wicks don’t drown once lit. It does take extra time, but I do enjoy the ability to get a smooth top even after the heat gun. I struggled getting the nice smooth top with 464 after heat gun.

I also had to wick up to account for it being a harder wax than 464.

So far so good.

I only make candles as a hobby and decided to make a few with this new wax. I used both AI and Candlescience instructions to make two different ones for test cases. I melted down the first jar to 188 added my fragrance at 185, and poured at 144.
The second jar I heated to 148 (slowly heating)
added fragrance @ 135
poured @ 124
I used the same fragrance oil for both jars.
Smooth tops in both jars, but jar#1 was more flatter around wick than jar#2
cold throw slightly less intense in jar#1
cold throw great in jar #2
The information I go on AI was more informative about this wax then your website.
I just made these candles 11/13/25 @ 1130am EST . So they are not cured. I will update when they are.

So far no problems I used made two test candles with this wax. And so far I have not seen any problems with this wax . I heated the wax to 188 for one jar and 144 for the other one. I added fragrance at the same temp 140 and poured at different temp ; 135 for jar 1 and 124 at jar 2. The tops were smooth on both jars but on jar #1 the cold throw was less intense. The cold throw on jar#2 was great. I did notice that the top on jar #2 was not as smooth as #1. It was puckered a little around the wick. These were the only changes I saw in the two jars.
I followed information that I found on AI about soy wax that is 100% soy. I will update later after these candles cure. I just made them today.

Followup This is an update on candles I did today. Both jars are fully cooled now. The 1st jar does have some a break in the top layer. The second jar is perfect with a smooth topping.

Great Experience!
Jade 2025-11-13

This is the only wax I’ve used so far as I’m a beginner candle maker and I’ve had great luck with it. After a few trial and error moments I realized this wax pours best at 140 degrees. Once I realized the wax needed to cool a little more before poring I had beautiful tops, no cracks, and no sink holes! I’ve made around 100 14oz candles this week that turned out beautifully! The 2 day cure time is also incredible! So glad I started with this product!

So I have not had issues with sink holes. Like others followed instructions to the T and after waiting a week, I tested it and I get absolutely no hot throw!!!! I am at a loss.
