If we had to pick one wax for all makers of any experience level, CandleScience Coconut Apricot Wax is it. Through extensive research and testing, our lab has developed a user-friendly, single-pour container wax that makes it easier to achieve the strong hot throw and smooth tops found in luxury candles. And, the cure time is just one to two days!

This wax features the ability to create multi-wick candles in containers with diameters as small as 3.25”, which elevates both the aesthetic and fragrance intensity of your candle line while minimizing your costs. Learn more about how to calculate your costs in our article on How to Price Your Candles.

  • Luxury apricot wax blend
  • Elevated multi-wick aesthetic
  • Single-pour with smooth tops
  • Excellent hot throw
  • Minimal frosting
  • Good color retention
  • Enhanced UV protection

Our custom blend of apricot, coconut, and soy includes a UV additive that protects candles from yellowing and dyed candles from fading due to light exposure. Our formulation minimizes frosting, allows for bolder use of color, and the inclusion of paraffin is key to this wax’s strong fragrance throw.

Candle Maker's Notes
A unique feature of this wax is that a traditional melt pool, where the wax is fully melted to the edge of the container, isn’t necessary. As long as the wax continues to melt and slide into the wax, the wax will be fully utilized.

See our lab notes for details on how to conduct your burn testing.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Too much soot with a single wick? Try double- or triple-wicking with smaller wicks. Containers with diameters larger than 3.25” will likely need more than one wick.
  • Wet spots? Warm your jars before pouring your wax and/or pour your wax at a warmer temperature.
  • Visible striations or layers in your dyed candles? Pour the wax at a slightly warmer temperature.
  • Trying to find the right wick for your CandleScience Coconut Apricot Wax candles? Our Wick Guide will help get your testing started.

Just amazing

I didn’t believe that a wax would ever hold up to it claiming to be the best on the market. But this wax is everything it’s claiming. I’m just amazed the ht at 8% is great. Just after 3 days cure, unbelievably I know but it’s true. I’m seriously considering changing my wax. I’m going to test some more first. But so far it’s all good. I buy most of all my fragrance oils from candle science. I’m praying that this wax works out for me. Cause candle science has the best and fast shipping and great quality products. I can pay for shipping once. This wax is awesome !!!

A Must Try, then a Must Buy

This wax is all around amazing! Thank you Candle Science for offering the 1lb samples, that’s all that was needed to confirm my upcoming purchase. I melt the wax to 200 degrees using the double boiler method, but will eventually transfer it to a presto pot. I added the FO immediately, stirred for 45 sec- 1 min & poured into my vessels between 165-170 degrees. CT developed immediately & the smooth white tops are to die for. I let my candle cure for 3 days & burned my triple wick vessel with LX 10s. Within the first 15-20 min, the HT is amazing. Looking forward to testing other oils. Thanks CandleScience.

Wow. Wow. Wow. This wax is the best wax I’ve ever worked with. Glass adhesion, creamy smooth tops, HT/CT… Impeccable. Kudos, CandleScience!!

CS Coconut Apricot Is Amazing, Highly Recommend

Coconut-apricot wax is the only wax we pour our candles with, and I was excited to test the new CS Coconut-Apricot and was amazed! Hands down, coconut wax outperforms soy, and the added benefit of apricot wax provides a clean and even burn. CS Coconut-Apricot is a single-pour wax that creates a smooth, finished top and excellent glass adhesion. We double-wicked all our candles, including vessels with an opening diameter of 3.12", and found that smaller wicks in the LX series work best with the CD wick series as a backup. We found that you do not need to overburden the wax with heavy fragrance loads and that 6-8% is optimal. Our testing concludes an excellent cold and hot throw within two days and clean, even burn cycles with very little soot. I recommend watching the video on the product page for an overview of the wax and an understanding of how you can incorporate CS Coconut-Apricot into your production. Makers note: Coconut waxes prefer smaller wicks and low heat, causing the wax to "hang up" as the candle burns. Do not worry; the wax on the sides will rejoin the melt pool as the candle burns down. I highly recommend you try this wax!
