I’ve been using IGI6028, and I have to say—the quality is outstanding! It’s hands down the best pillar wax for custom candles. It burns clean, has a great hot throw (HT), and produces beautifully smooth tops on my pillars.
However, cutting this wax is a real challenge! I tried using a soap cutter, but it ended up bending under the pressure. You definitely need some serious muscle to cut through the slab! That’s the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5. Next, I’ll be trying coconut pastilles, which seem easier to handle. But despite the cutting struggle, IGI6028 remains my top choice for pillar candles—the results are worth the effort! 💪🕯️✨

I am relatively new to my candle business. I've tried several waxes for my pillars and discovered the IGI6028. I love love love it! White candles come out super smooth and creamy. It holds color and scent well. I've noticed that my metal molds require a second pour, but my silicone molds rarely do.

I shopped around even after trying this wax because, let's face it, shipping through Candle Science is expensive. However, after trying a couple of parasoy blends from other places, I decided to come back to the IGI6028 because the quality is unmatched, imo.

I tried this wax because a friend of mine referred it and I am currently ordering more! Anyone complaining about this wax for any reason, their review should be completely disregarded. This wax is phenomenal. In terms of it being hard and having to break it with a hammer, that's expected since this is a pillar wax.

I’ve tried so many waxes over the past year, trying to find something that doesn’t melt in the FL heat, doesn’t leave my packaging and jars full of marks, doesn’t lose its color right away ….. holds a great scent and doesn’t look like plastic.
This is it for me! It’s soft-ish, almost like a soy wax, but not too soft. It resists frosting (although I have been lucky in that dept thus far, knock on wood). Its hot throw is amazing! It has got a high melting point so I don’t have to worry about mailing from FL in the summer months meaning I don’t have to ship M, Tues., and Wed. only.
The only downfall …. And Candle science could fix this for us 😉😉, is … it’s not available in a flake version. The reviews are NOT exaggerating when they say it’s hard. I couldn’t even break it with my hammer or hammer claw. I eventually got through it but it wasn’t fun.
I’ll chop away with an axe if I have to for this product though. From here on out, it will be the only wax I use. I’m so glad I won’t have to spend oodles on wax that just sits anymore, as I try to find a better product!

I am so impressed by this wax 🤩 The CT/HT is incredible & it is so easy to make pillar/wax melts with!! No frosting, no sinkholes, absolutely perfect for whipped wax!! The only minor downside is that it’s hard to cut but SO WORTH IT!! I’ll cut a slab of this wax any day if that means I can make perfect wax melts!!
