You may see some variation in the wax coating on the wick due to different coating processes. The variance of the wax coating on the wick has no impact on the burn of the candle.

About the CD Series
CD (Stabilo) wick is a flat braided cotton wick with paper threads woven into the cotton. The reinforced construction of the wick is designed to ensure a consistent burn with higher fragrance loads, especially with softer, more viscous natural waxes. The superior rigidity of CD wick allows the wick to stand up straighter for easier pours and keeps the wick upright in a deep melt pool. Note: Any carbon buildup should be removed once the wick is extinguished. CD wicks are lead and zinc free.

Mushrooming and Soot

I have used many sizes of these wicks, and even when using the correct size for the vessel, I am getting mushrooming with every burn, even with regular trimming. The flame dances quite a bit and with white vessels, I notice quite a bit of soot. I thought using a cotton wick would avoid these issues, especially the mushrooming, but I have had issues with every burn.

Ordered these February 19 2021 and I don’t know what they changed but the flame is crazy and flickers too much. Wasn’t like this the last time I ordered. Very upset with these

There is a lot of soot. I like the way it burns all the way to the edges, so the size seems right. Is it because its basically cotton and paper? I was thinking this would be more of a “natural” option but the soot bothers me. Particularly on the white straight sided jars. Please advise

lots of soot and dancing

These are the only single wick I found large enough to create an even melt pool for my jar but even when constantly trimmed this wick dances like crazy and left black soot all over my jar. I'll have to try and find a double wick option instead.

Black Soot

This wick is bad, it mushrooms rather quickly and emits black soot. I've had customers complain about the excessive soot and even went so far as to return the containers filled with soot. This is not good. Please help, its has been very embarrassing and I'm now loosing money on the purchase of the wicks, since I can no longer use them.

Black Mushrooming

This particular wick is great for candle making wit h the 415 Soy Wax. It maintains a consistent flame, excellent melting pool along with an excellent scent throw. The BIGGEST DOWNFALL to this wick, is the MASSIVE MUSHROOMING. That is the only downfall to this wick. Maybe I am burning the candles too long, but other wicks that I've used did not have the mushrooming at all. My next attempt is to use the ECO 16 "6" wick. Hopefully it does not mushroom at all while still maintaining its consistent flame, melting pool & scent throw.

Not crazy about this wick, flame was super high and starts out with a lot of black soot, black formed on inside of jars. Any other suggestions for a good burning wick without the soot? High flame scares me.

Just started my candle business and want to find the best wick, so I used the wick guide and was recommended this. Burns my 464 wax too fast and shows mushrooming and tunneling in my 8oz metal tins. Please help me

The first test burned really well so i went ahead and made a small batch. About the 3rd or 4th time burning i noticed this black smoke coming from it then my jars Started getting black about the opening. Definitely won’t be using again. I feel defeated.
I used the 13oz Salsa Jars, gb464 wax and this was the recommended wick.

Scary Wick

I used this wick as recommended with the 8 oz. Tureen Jars. I was burning one of the candles it had the biggest black smoke and the room the candle was burning in became super smokey! I'm so concerned because I just shipped out several orders using this wick and not to add the wick came unglued when burning. This is not a good wick to use.

Burns Great, But....

I started using these wicks with Cargill Naturewax C-3, and they seemed to bee fine at first, with great burning, but the wicks started coming out of their tabs when I put the wick bars on. Every other wick has held up well with the slight tug I give to put it in the wick bar, but these popped out constantly. It was really annoying having to pour the melted wax back into the pouring pitcher. The flames are very consistent, although they are prone to mushrooming and producing black smoke if you leave the candles burning too long.

Wick guide was wrong

When I used the wick guide to help me figure out what wick would be best for my 8 oz tureen jars with 464 wax, It suggested this CD22 and the flame was massive. Definitely need to downsize to maybe 20 or 18.

Thick Wick!!

I have been having problems with my candles tunneling with other wicks I ordered from other sites, so I decided to try this wick, it did an amazing job ... but my flame was just too big, so I am going to order down a size and hope my flame will be perfect. But otherwise these wicks are great!!
