Enchanting Mermaid Candles and Melts
Dive into an ocean of allure, magic, and mystery—all in the comfort of your own home. These upscale mermaid candles and melts celebrate our favorite aspects of this (supposedly) mythical creature.
Our Inspiration
We were drawn to create mermaid candles after watching how candles burn in our Chameleon Prism Sonoma Tumbler Jar and Prism Sonoma Tumbler Jar. These candle containers put on a captivating show as the light changes, like a mermaid luring sailors in. The metallic-tinged hues shift from vivid blues and purples to radiant greens and yellows; when lit, they cast a red-toned light beckoning for our full attention. And while the colorplay of these containers is indeed mesmerizing, their thick glass and substantial weight give them a decidedly upscale feel.

Since the candle containers we’re using for this project come in two sizes, we designed a few different label concepts. The arched label leans into the upscale feel of the container by using a simple line image, sans-serif font, and an overall minimalist aesthetic. In contrast, we took the same label shape and flipped it upside down, choosing a darker theme leaning into the mysterious nature of merfolk. For the mini container, we printed a scale pattern on glossy clear film labels to replicate the look of mermaid tails.
We designed our labels using Canva and printed them using Avery WePrint. The Chameleon Prism Candle features a 2.75” x 2.25” Arched Label while the Mini Chameleon Prism Candle label was printed on 7” x 2” Glossy clear film. Wax Melts
If you're looking for a flameless way to pay homage to mermaids, think about wax melts. There is a treasure trove of mold options, ranging from pearls and jewels to tales and scales. We chose the beach-themed classic, seashells, and added mica powder to create the pastel colors and subtle shimmer. The true magic happens when they begin to melt—the seashells sink into a sparkling lagoon of scent and color.
