Ancient craftsmanship meets modern design in the Natural Terracotta Pot. This single or double-wick candle container’s warm, matte finish harkens back to antiquity—terracotta (“baked earth” in Italian) originated thousands of years ago—while its clean-lined silhouette looks at home in present-day spaces like sunrooms, living rooms, and covered, outdoor spaces. These natural pots vary in color due to the nature of the material.
This container—also available in Gray Terracotta—was specially made for candle use: the interior is lacquer sealed to protect the integrity of the pot, and there is no drainage hole.
Our favorite fragrances to pair with this container are Lemongrass and Verbena Citronella, Pear and Thyme Citronella, Citronella, and Ginger and Saffron Citronella.
Candle Maker’s Note
- Please keep your terracotta pot out of the rain. Terracotta is a porous material that absorbs water. If the pot is wet on the outside and hot (from a candle) on the inside, the jar may break.
- If wax drops onto the outside of the container you can wipe the wax away but it will leave a mark. We've found that the mark fades over time.
- Labeling can be tricky due to the material type. Be sure to choose a label with aggressive adhesive and avoid kraft labels. We've found that kraft labels are too rigid and are more prone to lifting off of curved surfaces.
