This scent is just so warm and comforting. I own a spell candle business and I use this fragrance in my Samhain Candles, and I literally cannot keep it in stock! My customers rave to me about it, and it's a strong, long lasting scent that smells like being hugged by something big and fuzzy in a cabin with hot apple cider on the stove.
This is a delightful smelling fragrance oil, pretty unique and definitely appropriate for the Fall seaon. It's a bit subtle, so you'll have to add a bit more than you would the Candied Apple Fragrance, but overall, I'd definitely recommend this :)
Will not purchase again
I did 8.5% FO in 6006 wax, poured FO at 166 degrees and poured wax at 159. Cured 3 days. This fragrance is on the light side, but the throw was still amazing. It filled the bedroom, plus lingered a bit out in the hallway. You get whiffs of cider every now and then, but chestnuts really dominate, which I wouldn’t mind so much if the chestnut was a roasted scent. Instead, the chestnut is monotone and flat in my opinion. Just kind of a raw nut smell, but there is a warmth element to it.
This scent is spot on. Can smell both mulled cider and chestnuts. Nice and strong too. Have bought it for many years and is a good seller.
C.S. you missed again on this scent, very weak throw hot or cold, you should have just kept the roasted chestnut fragrant oil you use to carry, now that was a great scent. will have to take another loss and throw away, I hope this does not happen again! will have to look elsewhere for chestnut fragrant oil.
OMG this one is AMAZING! One of my favorite holiday/seasonal scents for sure! Great cold throw and hot throw is perfect! Will be ordering again for sure!
This has been my personal favorite holiday fragrance for the past 4 years. I tend to change up my Christmas scent fragrances each year to offer something new and different, but I have had to incorporate this fragrance every year! It just smells sooooo good!
I enjoy this scent (surprising since I don't really go for nutty scents) but I do wish the mulled cider had a bit more of an appley scent. I haven't tried mixing it with another apple--though I think that would solve the problem for me. The nutty tones are quite strong. I do find that it mellows a bit when it cures but not too much.
This is my favorite fall FO from Candle Science. It has so many layers of fragrance. Hot spiced cider with a hint of citrus and surprisingly I could also smell the chestnuts. It was the top selling fragrance in our tart collection last year in fall BUT sadly after a short time, everyone stopped buying it. Not sure why but the time frame of popularity for this fragrance is very short.
This is a wonderful gourmand/bakery/foodie fragrance oil. It is not particularly sweet...nor is it spicy in the way most fall/holiday scents are spicy, with strong cinnamon or "pumpkin" spice notes. Instead, it's a wonderfully complex nutty and toasty smell. Definitely something different for a fall or winter line, more sophisticated than your average fall and winter gourmand. I can also see this being popular year-round if it's given a name that isn't too evocative of holidays. It's also a very strong oil; I usually do 12% FO in my own paraffin-soy blend for killer hot throw, but I recently made a few candles in this scent with only 6% oil (oops.) The hot throw is still acceptable...not as good as I usually get, but a lot more noticeable than the other batch of candles I made with a different oil at 6%. (It was not a good day for me...) I won't sell these, since they aren't as strong as usual, but I'll gladly burn them in my house! Love this smell, especially during the holiday season.
Such a great fall/ holiday scent. Hot and cold throw is amazing!!
The Mulled Cider & Chestnut has been a best seller in my soy candle line for 2 years running. Just the name itself sells the candles. The chestnut fragrance is the stronger scent and then combine the cider....very unique!
This scent didn’t wow me personally but I think other people may enjoy it. When making this the throw was insane and the cold throw was even crazier. The hot throw was just non existent. It just smelled like wax when I burnt this candle. I can’t rate it any lower than 3 stars because I only made on batch, maybe it needs adjusted. However I won’t repurchase because the scent itself was generally unsatisfying.
I love this scent - as did my customers. It was a huge hit! I like it so much because it smells reminiscent of the season without being overtly holiday like pine and such. It's a great scent to carry throughout the winter season (and beyond because I love it THAT much!).
Love this FO. Used 464 @ 6% in a 12oz status and the scent traveled throughout my house very nicely. This is hard to do with such a small candle considering I have cathedral ceilings. I would recommend this.
I bought a batch of about ten samples to try for my first time and this was my favorite out of the bunch. Used it in 464 and the cold throw is good enough I haven't lit it yet!
I just didn't like the smell personally. Performance was very good though. Tested in GB 464.
Very pleased with this scent, customers loved it. I have also tried some other apple scents from CS, and while I liked all of them, this is by far my favorite. You can really smell the chestnut, and the apple part smells like apple cider.
I took a chance on this scent and wasn't sure what to expect. Turns out ~ this fragrance is really incredible. I am so happy I found this! My customers love it - I love it. Definitely a great seasonal scent. : D
I smelled this and was like wow this is going to be a favorite of mine. Made me smile haha. I hope customers like it too!!
This is a perfect fall scent. Just the right balance of cider & chestnuts.
I personally don't care for this one, it is very strong...1 oz. to 1 lb. 464 soy. I had a candle burning in my office and had to blow it out and cover it because it was actually making me nauseous...but everyone that walked in thought it was great! So I guess it's a hate it or love it! So that being said...5 stars from the co-workers :)
This is an awesome smell and the scent throw is great. When I used it at my house,it made me imagine myself sitting in front of the fireplace roasting chestnuts, sipping cider and watching it snow outside.I used GW 464 wax. I LOVE THIS SMELL!
I received this awesome new scent of Mulled Cider and Chestnuts and what a truly awesome scent! I wicked a 5" wide pottery container for a custom order in 464 wax with 3 #83 htp wicks and what an awesome throw! Both hot and cold...It filled my 1200 square foot home just so smoothly and so rich! I highly recommend!
I really like this smell. It's definitely different, not your typical 'cider' smell because most people expect cider to be sweet smelling. But you can definitely smell the clove and nutmeg and there is a hint of orange. I personally can't smell the ginger but I still like it. I think this is a really great fall/winter fragrance. I used 10% in soy wax.
I had a negative reaction to this scent, but I don't know why. I had some friends smell it and they also reacted negatively. And the scent stuck in my nose until I finally had to clean out my nasal palate with some Peach Nectar.
I used GB 464 1oz. to 1/2lb.wax. It has a strong smell but it wasn't quite what I expected. The chestnut smell seems to overpower the cider smell. For my own personal taste I would like a little more mulled cider smell but overall it makes a nice candle.
