Olfactive Description: Rich, Deep, and Bright with Hints of Jasmine and Neroli, Floral

With its elegant scent, Ylang Ylang essential oil (pronounced ee-lang ee-lang) is a rich, exotic floral commonly used in the perfume industry, but our ylang ylang is anything but common. There are multiple distillations of ylang ylang on the market that vary in concentration—ylang ylang I, II, and III. Our essential oil is ylang ylang I, which makes it a higher quality distillations and more concentrated than most other ylang ylang on the market. We highly recommend this as a standalone scent or for use in your own classy blend.

Ylang ylang flowers, also known as Cananga Odorata, are Certified Origin from Comoros, Madagascar, and are steam distilled. Did you know it takes 30,000 flowers to produce approximately 2.2 lb of essential oil?

This upscale essential oil is approved for use in candles, wax melts, and tarts. It also makes luxurious bar and liquid soap, and scrubs.

Candle Maker’s Notes: We’ve found that this essential oil produces a lovely scent in candles with a beautiful hot throw that’s true to the out of bottle fragrance. It rates three leaves out of three on our soy performance scale.

*Note: We used the maximum allowable IFRA usage rate of 1.40% to test this oil We did not experience any acceleration or separation. We slowly brought the batter to a medium trace, and it poured smoothly into the mold. After 24 hours we observed a small area gelled in the center of the loaf, and there was no discoloration. The scent was mild, but given the small usage rate, it was good. After 30 days there was no discoloration, and the scent did not fade.

Smells exactly like the EO should

This is definitely something you have to 'know' before you get it-- Ylang Ylang is a very very potent essential oil. VERY. This is more for making body products, than candles-- the flashpoints just don't mesh well for candles and melts. Good nose out of the bottle and behaves exactly as you would expect from this floral essential oil. Note the usage rates on this one before you dive in, A LITTLE GOES A VERY LONG WAY.

Not worth the price

Weak frangrance in wax but Very strong OOB. Used at 4% with 464 soy wax, cured for two weeks and the HT was very weak. Going to do 6% for a 16 oz candle to see if I get a stronger HT but at that rate it won’t be worth the cost of the oil.
Too expensive for candles. Disappointing.

No, just no!

I never smelled Ylang Ylang before but I've read great things about it and alot of positive statements. So while it was 30% off. I thought this one would be the first essential oil for me to try. It's pretty pricey, but I get that. I was so excited when it arrived. Opening the bottle with excitement, then the: oh no! It was so strong out of the bottle after 2 sniffs. I couldn't take it anymore. I could taste the smell, it was in my nose, smelled on my skin, I couldn't get away from it. I had to brush my teeth, gargle with mouthwash. Wash thoroughly my lips nose, mouth. Then soap up and do the same with my hands and arms. It was a process. After reading cs notes, it indicated that the smell out of the bottle was the same smell as you would get in your wax. I'm sure it's a quality oil, but definitely not for me. Sorry!
