Olfactive Description: Clove, Floral, Spicy

A warm and spicy scent, our Clove Leaf essential oil is sourced from Indonesia. Upcycling is one of our favorite things, and our Clove Leaf is a byproduct of the clove spice trade. Before clove buds are sent away to be used as culinary spices, their branches are stripped of leaves. These leaves are then gathered and steam distilled to create pure essential oil.

We’ve tested this essential oil in a multitude of products and recommend Clove Leaf essential oil for use in candles, and bath and body products like soap, scrubs, and lotion.

Candle Maker’s Notes:
Clove Leaf essential oil is a top performer in soy wax, rating three leaves out of three on our soy performance scale. The essential oil retains its clove and floral notes.

*Note: We used the maximum allowable IFRA usage rate of 2.23% to test this oil We experienced moderate acceleration and no separation. As we stick blended, we could feel the batter thickening, even before we reached a stable emulsion. We continued hand stirring to confirm there was no separation. Once we reached a medium, almost thick trace, we scraped the soap into the mold. We noticed that after about 10 minutes of sitting in the mold the entire loaf reached the gel phase. After 24 hours, the scent was very strong, and the bars had discolored to a light tan. After 30 days the scent remained strong, and the discoloration remained light tan. We recommend hand stirring this oil into your batter at a light trace and plan to work quickly.

Truly Underrated

When I first bought this, I was not really sure what to expect due to the price compared with fragrance oils. I found that A little really does go a long way, and it's truly phenomenal. It's crisp, and warm, and very healing. The scent remained in my room for hours and hours after blowing out the candle. I sold out within a day of my clove leaf candles at my event. Truly one of my favorites!

Great scent!

Used 5% in 464 wax. Great CT/HT! Really nice clove scent. It dominates in the blends I’ve tried so far, a little goes a long way.
