Olfactive Description: Peppermint, Menthol, Fresh

A minty and herbal standard, Peppermint essential oil is steam distilled from the fragrant leaves of mentha piperita. Considered a top note, Peppermint performs well on its own or in your own handmade blend.

One of our favorite things about this calming essential oil is that a little goes a long way. From soap to candles, the low usage recommendation still produces a strong scent. We found that Peppermint performs very well in candles, wax melts, and tarts. It also makes invigorating soap and scrubs.

Candle Maker’s Notes:
Peppermint essential oil is one of our top performing essential oils in soy wax. We rated peppermint essential oil as three leaves out of three on our soy performance scale. We noticed only a slight change from its out of bottle scent. We felt that this one pleasantly mellows out in wax.

Blends Well With: Eucalyptus, Black Pepper, Lavender (Bulgaria), Lemon, Tea Tree

*Note: We used the maximum allowable IFRA usage rate of 1.81% to test this oil We experienced slight acceleration and no separation. Initially, the oils and lye water was slow to reach a light trace. We continued stick blending and the batter seemed to be holding a light trace well. We started to clean off the stick blender and found we had a medium/thick trace. After 24 hours we observed the bars had a slight yellow discoloration and only a small area in the center had reached the gel phase. The scent was strong, despite the low usage rate. After 30 days there was no discoloration, and the scent was a little milder.

5/5. Need I say less.

But in all seriousness, peppermint EO is my all time favorite EO, just ahead of lavender EO. I'm not one to believe in phony baloney miracle cures with using EOs in my daily routine but yall hear me out.... peppermint EO always helps me with headaches and nausea. I got this as a replacement of my old peppermint EO I ran out of and it is a great, cost effective substitute since I rely on CS for other projects.

In a room spray, soap, and my oil diffuser, this works just great.

Great peppermint!

464 wax, 5% EO. Strong CT/HT. OOB and in wax, it's a pretty strong, classic peppermint smell. When it burns, it's actually really pleasant--more of a natural, high end aroma. I assumed I would need to blend it bc I don't want a candy cane smell, but it's a really lovely peppermint scent on it's own in a candle. I also did a 50/50 eucalyptus/peppermint and the peppermint dominates, so a little goes a long way.

Impressed

I have tried so many different peppermints from multiple companies and some are def stronger than others. I was extremely happy with this purchase and I am placing an order for a few more oils as I write this.
