Goat’s milk soap has been a favored luxury product for centuries. Now, you can learn to make your own luxurious goat’s milk soap with Stephenson Goat’s Milk Melt and Pour Soap Base. Our kit includes easy-to-use instructions to walk you through the soap making process, two vibrant, soap-safe colorants, and two of our most popular soap-safe fragrances:

  • Caribbean Teakwood: A complex, spicy fragrance with notes of tobacco, teakwood, sandalwood, and amber.
  • Himalayan Bamboo: A calming fragrance with a soothing aromatherapy blend of bergamot, bamboo, and violet.

Some crafters are a little nervous about working with lye, but our melt and pour soap kit skips that step by providing a premade soap base that’s all ready for your own creative designs. Just melt the soap base down in a microwave, add fragrance and colorant, and design your own handmade soap.

Show us your creativity with this kit. Each kit includes supplies to make eight goat’s milk handmade bars. Keep them for yourself or give them as gifts. And, if you want to make more soap, you'll be ready with the silicone soap mold, spatula, and pouring pitcher.

Kit Includes:

Items You'll Need At Home:

  • Cutting Board
  • Sharp Knife
  • Plastic Wrap
  • Isopropyl Alcohol (70% or higher)
  • Microwave

Great Starter Set

This was a fun kit, and I've already ordered more soap base and fragrance to try again!

One thing that I wish was included would be a picture of overheated soap on the guide, or the temperature that we should get the soap to when microwaving.

I was extra cautious on my first batch and both over- and under- heated the soap base; due to the quantity I was instructed to heat and the quality of my microwave, half melted well but the other half was solid. I continued to stir and microwave to break down the solid, some of the base that melted initially ended up overheating. I resolved that issue on the second batch by pouring some of the melted base into a separate silicone container before continuing to heat the rest.

The second batch turned out much prettier, and I'm sure my future soaps will look even better as I continue to learn. I don't think this is the place to ask, but if anyone knows I'd be grateful, could the base be heated in a double broiler, or would the water/steam cause an issue?

First time!

Just finished up my first time making melt and pour. So far so good! Couple of tips though for Candle Science to make these kits even better. There was actually 35 + oz of soap. Not complaining by any means. Did appear it may have melted a bit in transit but dont think that would change the weight. But glad I measured. Also the included spray bottle is great to have, however it shoots out in a stream not a mist. Luckily I have some laying around for my other crafts. All in all great kit. Love the free shipping. I'll be doing the candle one next. I also didn't use the Bamboo coconut I went with another scent. That's the reason I weighed the wax so I knew exactly how much to add. Can wait to see how these turn out tomorrow.

A little dry
Kayzel Belgica 2024-02-06

I love the smell of the teakwood and it feels so nice on my skin. But afterwards, it’s a little dry. Also is it normal to clump up after a little while. I wasn’t sure how long to stir.

Melt and Pour Soap Making Kit

Purchased the DIY soap making kit, how fun was that!!! Absolutely loved it, very easy and they came out amazing!!! I'm hooked! I was actually able to make 5 bars of each scent not 4 as stated and they are great! Now if I could just get my hands on the candle kit I'd be a happy camper!!! Been on back order for a long time!! Great gifts too for anyone!

Soap Happy!

I just want to say that I NEVER write reviews, but I bought the soap making kit and just finished making both batches of soap with my 5 year old niece. We made our first batch yesterday and first thing this morning my niece asked to make more soap. My whole family is in love with this newfound hobby and we can't wait to make more. It was so easy, (not to mention we love how easy the cleanup is compared to candle making), and the finished soap bars look and smell amazing! Thank you, Candlescience (and Stephenson's soap base), for bringing us joy! <3
