These were so easy to put in my candles (with hot glue or wax) and works great as a triple wick for a 4 inch diameter jar with my 464 wax!

You may see some variation in the wax coating on the wick due to different coating processes. The variance of the wax coating on the wick has no impact on the burn of the candle.
About the CD Series
CD (Stabilo) wick is a flat braided cotton wick with paper threads woven into the cotton. The reinforced construction of the wick is designed to ensure a consistent burn with higher fragrance loads, especially with softer, more viscous natural waxes. The superior rigidity of CD wick allows the wick to stand up straighter for easier pours and keeps the wick upright in a deep melt pool. Note: Any carbon buildup should be removed once the wick is extinguished. CD wicks are lead and zinc free.

Im using this wick with soy wax 464 in a 4 oz. mason jar, and judging by the melt pool -it's working nicely. I like this wick as it doesn't shroom as much. For my tin 2 oz jars I would definitely need a size smaller but I don't see any wick smaller than this one - could you suggest?
I don't know why they do not come with 3" long
I haven't used a CD series wick that I haven't been happy with. I've used them in both beeswax and soy wax. The CD3 wick works great in a three-wick containers when using 444 soy wax. Just don't cut the wicks down too low or you will get a small flame. I can let the candle burn for hours on end and never get more than a quarter-inch deep melt pool. Candle gives off plenty of heat as CD wicks seem to burn hotter than other wicks and the fragrance throw is great.
I did not like this product, it produces a weak flame.
