Protective Varnish Coating
Our candle tins feature a varnish coating on the inside of the tin to help protect the metal from discoloring. Keep in mind that aroma components like citrus oils, cinnamon oil, and vanillin in fragrance oils can still cause the color of the tin to shift, particularly at higher fragrances loads.

Great Little Tins

These tins are great! While the lids are slightly different (they have a different finish) the color is fairly accurate with the product photos and they are the perfect size. With my wicks and GB 464 the fill line is exactly 4oz by weight. There is a previous review mentioning stickers do not adhere -- I had no issues with stickers adhering to these vessels. For these tins I opted to use the smaller wick stickers and made about 50 of these so far.

Lids are too small

Ive purchased silver, black, and rose gold tins from Candlescience and they were all great but for some reason these gold 6oz tins have lids that barely fit. They are tough to put on and you have to press down so hard it actually dents the lid and to take it off you have to wiggle it for a good 20 sec.
I’m so disappointed because I wicked 120 tins before finding out the lids barely fit so now I’m stuck with them.

I wanted to like these...

I wanted to like these. Currently, I get my gold tins from Uline and it's the only thing I purchase from them so I was excited when CandleScience finally released their own gold tins, I could consolidate. However, the way the molding is on the inside of the tin makes the wick stickers not adhere to the bottom as well. I made up a large batch of about 72 candles and half of the wicks came off after I poured. I had to babysit the candles after pouring to make sure I could get them to stick. I still have about half of my order left of these and am dreading making up the rest. Unfortunately, when it comes to this product, I'll be sticking with Uline and their flat bottom gold tins. =\
