Better than Alpine Balsam

Red berry balsam is much less intrusive, lighter and less bombastic than Alpine Balsam.

No just no

This smells like nail polish remover. Like the scent of chemicals when you walk into a nail salon. Sad because I had high hopes for this.

The candle made all the difference

Out of the bottle and while mixing it into my wax, the Red Berry smelled very medicinal to me. The scent shifted once the wax cooled. The cold throw was better but the hot throw brought on the nostalgia! I haven't bought a Christmas tree or been on a Christmas tree lot in years. This smell brought me back. The red berry is definitely the strongest note for me and then I smell the balsam.

Intriguing

OOB I loved this scent. CT; loved the scent. HT I felt both that it could've been stronger yet somehow at the same time was strong enough for the den I had it burning in, which is open to a balcony, so the scent is there. What came through was the berries more than the pine, for my husband it was a smoky scent, at the end we both smelled pine, berries & smoke. Over all, a very intriguing scent that I plan to carry this season!

Smells like toilet bowl cleaner

I didn't really like this OOB, it smells very artificial. I wanted to give it a try in a candle though (7.5% in soy wax) because fragrances change when used in a product. In my opinion, it's actually worse in a candle. CT isn't super strong, but it smells like toilet bowl cleaner to me. It definitely has some pine, but than an incredibly artificial "freshness", that I associate with cheap septic cleaners.

Disagreeable "undertones" in smell

Evergreen and berry scents are among my favorites, so I was looking forward to this one. I can definitely smell some woody notes; unfortunately, the most salient notes seem quite disagreeable to my nose, almost like a rotten tomatoes smell. I don't get any of the berry (I wonder if this is supposed to be that?) or eucalyptus notes. This is in a soy candle at 6% load and it's slightly more agreeable when burning than it is smelling cold (and definitely out of bottle, which we all know is not a good way to judge a fragrance--though it didn't give me a good feeling then, either!). However, I don't think I can make myself try any more of this fragrance. Everyone's nose is different, and there seem to be others who like it, so maybe you will too! Just not for me.

Yes, Yes, YES!!

This fragrance quickly became my new favorite. If you love woodsy and berry scents then Red Berry Balsam is right up your alley. This is definitely making its way into my Holiday Collection. Well done Candle Science!

Unsure on this one

Faint scent, not super strong. It does not smell like red berry balsam but it does smell fresh and clean.

My Favorite!

I was surprised to find that this was my favorite out of all the new seasonal scents!! It will be the perfect Fall/Winter transition scent. It's a little citrusy and a little woodsy with a hint of berry. So perfect and well-rounded.

I find it strange to judge out of the bottle. I sniffed this one on a blotter, out of the bottle, and in the candle and OOTB vs blotter and candle smells slightly different. I immediately put this into a candle and a second with mixed with Cranberry Woods to bring out the cranberry upon receiving my samples a few days ago. Even after a few days of curing, my candles smell great and wonderfully fruity and woodsy! I bet the HT will be even better after a full two week cure.

This one is definitely going into my winter collection as my customers have been asking me to bring back my cranberry scents!
