We experienced slight acceleration but no separation. The oils and lye water started to come to an emulsion slowly and seemed like they would cooperate while coming to trace. As soon as a stable emulsion was reached the batter turned a dark yellow and was instantly at a thick trace. We plopped the soap in the mold and tamped it down on the counter to minimize any air pockets that may have formed inside. After 24 hours, we found that the soap only reached a partial gel and there were signs that a small area of the center had overheated. The outer edges that didn’t gel discolored to a yellow shade while the gelled area appeared to have no discoloration. The scent was quite strong. After 30 days the scent remained strong, and the bars had discolored to a tan color. We recommend hand stirring in this fragrance at a light trace. If you plan to use any color, add it before the fragrance to allow as much time as possible to work.
