Our Black Liquid Candle Dye for candle wax produces colors ranging from light grey to black, depending on the type of wax and amount of dye used. For example, our black candle dye in soy wax generally produces light to medium shades, whereas paraffin wax can range from pastels to darker shades. We encourage you to experiment.

Use: 3 drops/lb (454 g) for a lighter shade or 6 drops/lb (454 g) for a darker shade

Note: Use instructions differ between colors.

Absolutely Stunning

I am doing a 700 candle order for a school and they requested black candles. I originally purchased black dye from another vendor and actually wasn't too happy with the way their dye worked so I started looking around for more candle dye and saw that CandleScience sold dye and the reviews were positive. I ordered 2 of the 4oz. bottles because I'm on a time crunch and need to finish this order. I should have purchased this dye from the beginning. The candles came out beautifully and now I have to go back and clean the others I have made. But CandleScience you guys did that, I will definitely purchase again if I need to. I hope this review helps someone else who comes along and really wants to know this candle dye will work or not. IT WORKS!!!! With Halloween coming up I know this will help those who make the Halloween candles. Go purchase this dye I promise you won't be disappointed.

I have been trying many different dyes and color mixtures to try and get a true black color for my candles. After doing research and hearing about liquid dye I of course came to Candle science (where I get all my candle supplies) and ordered this black. I came out with an amazing true black that I had been looking for! Thank you again Candle Science for being awesome!!

Listen, I love using liquid dye when making products because the shades wouldn't be completely all over the place with different batches, however, the rubber top might pop off a little bit, which will then cause you to get the dye on your fingers.

Use more than directed to give deep black color

Although I have to add way more drops than directed, I am able to get a true deep black color in my 90% soy/10% paraffin wax blend. Very happy with the product!
