Cold Process Soap Performance

Lye Water Temperature 100ºF (37.8°C)
Oil Temperature 110ºF (43.3°C)

We experienced excessive acceleration but no separation. Initially, the batter was very fluid and reached a light trace slowly. A few more pulses of the stick blender and we had mashed potato textured soap. We scooped the chunks of soap out of the pot and pressed it firmly into the mold as best we could. Within 15 minutes, the soap was almost in a full gel and the surface had cracked open. After 24 hours we cut the soap into bars and found they were smooth except in the corners where we did not press down firmly enough. We observed that the soap reached a full gel and the outer rim of the soap discolored to a bright yellow while the middle remained unchanged. The scent was pleasantly strong. After 30 days the soap discolored to a dark tan color and the scent remained strong. We recommend hand stirring in this fragrance at a very light trace.

Ocean meets a pleasant flower. It almost smells like a sweet grape. Very unique by itself.

“This oil performs really well in soy wax candles. I used Soy 464 with an 8% fragrance load and the candle smells amazing both cold and hot. The fragrance is smooth and fills the room without being overwhelming.”

One of my store favorites. I have a bar that's going on 2 years old and the fragrance is still strong. I think I am going to try it in a candle. I'm in FL like Tammy in another comment, so I'm curious how it will go.

good CT Throw NH Throw GREAT For My diffusers & Melts
Tammy O 2025-10-25

So i like this but may not be able to use this for my main candles :( the wax melts are good which i use CandleScience CocoSol Soy Pillar Wax, not tested the wax melter yet but CT is good and was better than a prier wax i tested it in 15% FO, diffusers is also good, but issues with my candles i am testing with a 12 oz 2 wick 3.5" wide candle with the wax Golden Brands 454 Coconut Soy Wax, the CT is light not nearly as good as the wax melts but it is there. as for the HT i testing is at 3 days and 5 days and still no real HT will be testing it at 9days and 14 days. (just a 4 hr burn) i am testing in a bathroom so it is small and there is a smell just kinda a nothing smell? nothing like the CT but i live in FL so we do have high humitity so insure if a factor. also side note i use Premier 760 wicks probably can wick down slight but it isn't a full melt till the 3rd 4 hr burn. Like for this to be a candle smell and not just for my melts and diffures :(. i did order some IGI 6006 Paraffin/Soy Blend Wax going to test a mix of this and the CandleScience CocoSol Soy Pillar Wax as i am not sure if it is the soy being a big issue in the end the CT again is good so will get my customers interested but as all know the HT is what gets the return customers. was hoping to avoid Paraffin but i get it;s need as HT is a big point of candles. ALSO i pour in the FO at 185 degrees. (hopes this helps)
