Yellow Liquid Dye for candle wax produces a color range of yellow depending on usage. Your actual experience may vary depending on what type of wax you use and the amount of dye used. We encourage you to experiment.

In soy, deep, rich colors are challenging and standard dye amounts create a washed-out, pastel color. They require 2-3 times the dye that paraffin requires, sometimes more.

  • A 1 oz bottle can color up to 100 lb of soy wax or 200 lb paraffin to a medium shade.
  • A 4 oz bottle can color up to 400 lbs of soy wax or 800 lbs to a medium shade.

Fragrance Oil Recommendations: Citrus AgaveBrandied PearLemon Pound Cake, Jamaica Me Crazy

Note: Due to the extreme concentration of our liquid dyes there is a noticeable odor that will not be detectable at normal usages in finished candles.

True to Color

Candle Science liquid dyes are highly concentrated which means a little goes a lonnnnnng way. I used one drop in 16oz of 444 soy and achieved the lighter shade. Oh and try not to get it on your hands or anything else. It can be a bit messy to clean. If you use a damp cloth to wipe it off, it smears. Heaven help the one who spills a bottle on their countertops or floor.

As some have stated in other reviews, this stuff stinks out out of the bottle. But hey, who really smells dye expecting it to be fragrant? The bottom line is that a drop or 3 will be virtually undetectable in scented candles, unless you have the nose of a bomb sniffing K9. I say you get a pretty decent bang for your buck. I prefer this liquid to dye chips or blocks. Four stars because I haven’t tested the strength of the deeper tone and had issues getting the desired color when mixing.

I only use the liquid dies from candle science, perfect every time

Great product, the color is beautiful

I would give CandleScience liquid NO stars if that was an option. Extremely disappointed in the liquid dye (tried red, blue and yellow). VERY noxious smell, gave several people headaches. Smell only slightly improved in finished product.
Wasted 2 pounds wax, fragrance, glass candle jars - CandleScience states this is not defective. Smells like mothballs - very, very unpleasant smell.
