I really enjoy fresh ginger, and out of the bottle this was spicy and gingery and compelling. I made a nice little batch of cold-process, and it behaved wonderfully, no. acceleration, and, given my color palate (ochre and red), no discoloration.
But after 24 hours... I have to say, this smells like soap. It smells like an old-fashioned bar of Dial or something. It's the first time I've ever made soap that... Smells like soap, and I find it pretty off-putting. I hope it mellows out a little in the cure, but so far, not a winner.
