had to try it. At first I wasn’t sure but I put it in a candle with a wooden wick and it is absolutely wonderful . It has such a unique sent to it very hard to describe, just a whole bunch of Yum LOL. I know it will be a big hit !

Tonka and Oud is a complex, modern fragrance with high-end appeal. This woody scent begins with top notes of amaretto and powder as it gives way to a heart of tonka and balsam. Notes of rum, musk, and sweet, resinous oud make up the base of this intriguing fragrance.
This pleasantly mellow scent is perfect for “everyday” home fragrance options like candles, wax melts, and reed diffusers. Tonka and Oud turns bath and body care creations into beautiful gifts for any season. We can also imagine Tonka and Oud as an ideal scent for a men’s personal care line—think beard oils and shaving balms.
This fragrance oil is infused with natural essential oils, including fir needle, cedarwood, lemon, peppermint, and palmarosa.

Cold Process Soap Performance
Lye Water Temperature 106ºF
Oil temperature 115ºF
We did experience some acceleration but no separation. The mixture came to a light trace quickly, and with just a few additional pulses of the stick blender we had a medium-thick trace. The batter initially poured into the mold easily, but then started to clump as the last little bit was poured. Tamping the mold after pouring did smooth out the top. We did experience a wide variety of color changes throughout the process. When adding the lye water to the fragranced oils, the oils turned grey. As we began stick blending, the mixture turned a light yellowish-brown color. After 24 hours, the outer edges of the soap were a dark mustard yellow shade while the inside remained a light lemon yellow shade. The scent was super strong! After 30 days the scent had faded slightly, but was still pleasantly strong. The final color of the bar is dark brown. The discoloration and acceleration will limit the design options, but the final scent would be well worth a simple design.
I absolutely cannot stop smelling this fragrance and it’s one I could burn all day! Sophisticated, sweet, spicy, and manly! This is my husbands favorite and is one of our signature scents.
OOB and when pouring it's SUPER strong!!! But when it's burning, it's toned down quite a bit and smells really really good. Easily become one of my customers favorites!
I'm not sure if this FO was labeled incorrectly and I got the wrong scent? It smells nothing like described here or in other comments. I got this based off of the description and notes of the scent plus reviews from others. It's actually making me physically ill. I tried it in a candle, hoping once it was set in wax, it would change but it hasn't.
The only way I can describe it is cheap men's cologne mixed with a very floral woman's perfume that lingers in your nose long after you've left the perfume department.
I crafted our signature scent using this as the base and we can not keep it in stock. Everyone loves it. So what does it smell like? It’s Oud Wood, Tonka Bean & Musk. Its sweet, a little musky but like a really sexy, masculine kinda musky yet universal appeal. My mother, who does not like anything with oudwood or tonka bean absolutely loves this FO. The HT is so amazing and it lingers in the rooms hours after extinguishing the candle. I recommend using less than 8% fragrance load. The FO is heavy and a little goes along way. Trust me. Remember, let your candle cure for about 20 days prior to lighting and you will be in love with Tonka and Oud!
I am trying to launch my own candle business and have purchased many fragrances, and this is by far my favorite! Please don’t ever discontinue or phase this fragrance out. I love it. 🥰
I make gift soaps (melt and pour), perfumes and lotions, so I don't need the same kind of scent throw a candle maker does, so this is great for me. It's a gentle, spiced woody vanilla; delicious, slightly tangy, hint of powdery dark musk but not enough to ruin it. It wears well and consistently without projecting far from the skin and is just a lovely comforting scent. I love this one.
Made candles using 10% fo load and fell in love with this scent. It burns beautifully in soy wax and the scent is strong. Will be adding this to my year round scents.
I wanted to love this as a candle. It smells SO good as an oil, however, when I made my candle, I couldn't smell it. First burn was for about an hour to 2 and second burn was for about 4 hrs. I had high hopes about this being an amazing candle too and I really want to try it again but feel that it will be a waste of money/products etc.
I bought Tonka and oud in December, loved it out of the bottle... Put it away, until now! Used 464, Mixed at 185 and poured at 145- 149 seems to be my magic number... perfect smooth tops and CT is amazing...cured about 4 days and HT is amazing! This is a year round scent! And smells Amazing! One of my absolute Favs! And a top seller too! Don’t ever let the smell of a fragrance oil fool you! They ALWAYS ALWAYS smell even better in wax! Candle science you guys are AMAZING! Beautiful scent! You won’t regret this one!
The scent isnt very strong. The cold throw was excellent, however, when burning, there was little to no smell. I would literally have to stand over it to smell OR allow my candle to burn for 3hrs to get a very small bathroom to smell. I wish this oil was so much better.
Followed my normal process to make candels using 464 soy wax. Unfortuntaely, this one doesn't seem to give off a very strong hot throw.
Smell was great when made candle fragrance did not mix. When candle set up all liquid was sitting on the bottom of candles. So madding.
Great scent. Worked not bad in 464 wax at a 10% concetration, fragrance added at 185 degrees, stir for 2 min then get down to 145 degrees and pour, cure for 7 days. I was using this for melts so 464 might NOT be the best wax for tarts. Don't get me wrong, the hot throw is awesome if you wait about a couple hours. Then you can't stop the room scent. Just that waiting period and maybe an up in fragrance. For candles though did the same process. It makes an AWESOME candle. VERY awesome.
On my first candle making venture, I made several batches (using 464) with several different scents. Tonka and Oud was by far the favorite. Cold throw was excellent. I don’t know about hot throw yet, I told everyone to wait a few weeks to light so the candles could cure. Sadly, I gave them all away, so I have to visit folks to find out how they performed.
I loved this scent out of the bottle and in the cold throw of my soy candles. As others have said, it has a strong note of baby powder, but it's not off-putting. I would classify this scent as sophisticated and gender-neutral without being overly masculine. My problem is with the performance. I made test candles using my usual procedure (heat 464 to 185F, mix 10% fragrance oil by weight, cool to 135F and pour) using the size of jar and wick I customarily use. Nothing was from a new or untested batch. The hot throw is nonexistent. The FO also seems to need a larger wick than any of the other Candle Science FOs that I have used in the same containers. I realize that different oils sometimes require different wicks for optimum performance, but this was a very drastic difference from the norm. I would love to make this scent work, but if further testing produces similar results I'll have to take a pass.
Loved this, wish I ordered more. Men love it!
Recently purchased this scent during the 1oz scent sale and I am in love with this! Perfect everyday scent that is sure to sell well. Can't wait to make more!
One of the first ever fragrances that I ever got from CandleScience. Although quite strong straight out of the bottle the fragrance was really nice in my candles. Definitely one of my favorite candles yet! Will buy again!
Indeed this is a beautiful scent and the powder note definitely comes through, but not overwhelmingly. It performed well in my wax. My guy says that it would make a beautiful smelling soap, so my next CP soap will be made with this fragrance. I would say this would fit more in a men's line, but women would like it just as much. I get Christmas vibes upon smelling this, but it can indeed be used year round. I would use this scent as one of my staple scents if I had a home, bath & body business.
This might be my favorite fragrance oil ever. Like... Ever. It's sweet and musky at once, and I could really just take a bath in it (which works out as I made soap). Even my husband likes it, and given that his usual response is, "eh, it's soap..." I consider that a big win. Having read the wonderful description, I was prepared for some discoloration, so the soap I made was a simple brown in individual cavity molds - I had PLENTY of time to work with the batter and experienced no acceleration or ricing. It soaped like a dream.
Love love love this scent. This is an awesome scent. I have added this to my masculine line. Candles and soap are my primary use for it. So fragrant and relaxing. I can't keep up with the orders. Great for any masculine line.
Just received Tonka and Oud. I really wanted to instantly fall in love with it. First whiff, okay. Second sniff, I get licorice. Capped the bottle. Came back later and sniffed again. It’s more complex than licorice, but that’s the main scent coming through for me. I think it would be a good mixer for a masculine scent.
I had high hopes for this scent but all I smell is Baby powder. I made a candle in 6oz tin 415 wax. I will allow the candle to cure for some more days and test again.
I really love this scent, but seems like none of my testers did, which came as a surprise.
Used GB 464 at 10% FO, and HTP 104 in 8oz tureen. The hot throw is almost not there at all, but cold throw is nice.
Maybe will test some other variables with FO%.
This is an addictive scent and I'm in love with the earthiness of it. Although powder is noticeable tonka and oud are very great together. I wonder how it would smell with a touch of bergamot. This is a scent that I would love year round.
Tonka and Oud is simply divine. It is intoxicating. Love, love, love it. From your new customer.
Awesome!! I love this one!!
Adding this one to my masuline line.
I am getting too much powder notes in this one. It reminds me of baby powder. I love the other holiday scents but this one is not on a reorder list. :/
