If we had to pick one wax for all makers of any experience level, CandleScience Coconut Apricot Wax is it. Through extensive research and testing, our lab has developed a user-friendly, single-pour container wax that makes it easier to achieve the strong hot throw and smooth tops found in luxury candles. And, the cure time is just one to two days!

This wax features the ability to create multi-wick candles in containers with diameters as small as 3.25”, which elevates both the aesthetic and fragrance intensity of your candle line while minimizing your costs. Learn more about how to calculate your costs in our article on How to Price Your Candles.

Benefits

  • Luxury apricot wax blend
  • Elevated multi-wick aesthetic
  • Single-pour with smooth tops
  • Excellent hot throw
  • Minimal frosting
  • Good color retention
  • Enhanced UV protection

Our custom blend of apricot, coconut, and soy includes a UV additive that protects candles from yellowing and dyed candles from fading due to light exposure. Our formulation minimizes frosting, allows for bolder use of color, and the inclusion of paraffin is key to this wax’s strong fragrance throw.

Candle Maker's Notes
A unique feature of this wax is that a traditional melt pool, where the wax is fully melted to the edge of the container, isn’t necessary. As long as the wax continues to melt and slide into the wax, the wax will be fully utilized.

See our lab notes for details on how to conduct your burn testing.

1 lb Heat-Safe Bags
Our custom wax is offered in 1 lb heat-safe, BPA-free bags for testing. No metal pouring pitcher is needed.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Too much soot with a single wick? Try double- or triple-wicking with smaller wicks. Containers with diameters larger than 3.25” will likely need more than one wick.
  • Wet spots? Warm your jars before pouring your wax and/or pour your wax at a warmer temperature.
  • Visible striations or layers in your dyed candles? Pour the wax at a slightly warmer temperature.
  • Trying to find the right wick for your CandleScience Coconut Apricot Wax candles? Our Wick Guide will help get your testing started.

Amazing Wax ~ My New Exclusive
Cazembe - House of Dwyer 2025-08-04

This wax is truly a blessing. I started my journey with 464 and 100% soy is just not for me. I need passion! I need throw! Cold, Hot, smooth tops; I need LUXURY! and Coconut Apricot delivers. It is now my chosen exclusive wax over another brand's luxury coconut soy wax because it's slightly more affordable. Once I learned my container/wick combo for this wax it was smooth sailing. I enjoy how nicely it burns and resets. The temperature is also standard at 185 F heating and pouring at 160 - 170 F. It also enables me to keep fragrances at 8% with much satisfaction. I could go 10% to be extreme but honestly this wax makes it easy to maintain fragrance costs but delivering a lot with a little.

The only annoying thing is it is very gooey in it's cold form but wear gloves and all is well.

I will be using this wax for 90% of my brand's uses. Keep up the good work and DO NOT DISCONTINUE (please ^_^).

Hot Throw Issues
Derrick Nelson 2025-07-01

I have been using Golden Brands 464 for a year now and I love the cold and hot throw of that wax, however I love to color my wax and I use clear vessels and the frosting really bothered me with that wax. I wanted to give this wax a try to remedy that issue.

I used Candlescience’s Salted Honey Butter fragrance oil at 10% fragrance load. I used the studio tumbler jar by Candlescience as my vessel with a CD 16 wick. I colored this candle with a mixture of brown and yellow to test the frosting.

When my candle cooled, the top was very smooth. There were no cracks or sink holes. I didn’t have to use my heat gun for anything. After 5 days cure time there was no visible frosting which is great! There was also amazing jar adhesion. I didn’t see any separation from the vessel. However, the cold throw in that candle is very weak and I don’t smell the hot throw at all.

I really would like to switch to this wax, but I need help figuring out how to achieve good cold and hot throws, which is the most important part.

Beautiful Wax. However....
Kit 2025-06-28

This wax is soft and beautiful, with a soft top after it's burned. It really fits great with the luxury line I am doing. It is easy to pour and has great adhesion on the candle vessel I purchased from Candle Science—Sonomo—frosted white and black swirl. My challenge is that the CT is awesome, but I barely smell the HT. I used 2 LX 16 wicks, 10% FO, and cured for 7 days. Any input would be awesome!

Wax Review
McKenzie 2025-06-25

i found it very easy to use this wax as a beginner. super easy & clean. however this wax is extremely soft. i made some wax melts and feel as though they don’t hold their shape well while package. just my experience though! very soft and subtle wax.

Love this wax nice and smooth
Risha 2025-06-14

This wax does produce really smooth tops and the hot throw is very good. I don’t have any issues with sooting like I did with 6006. I highly recommend this wax; the look of candles are beautiful.
