Paraffin Pillar Wax (MP-137) is a fully refined paraffin wax perfect for creating glossy pillars, votives, tarts, and wax melts with excellent scent throw. Typically reserved for major manufacturing companies as a private label wax, MP-137 is an opportunity for the handcrafted market to try a premium wax. The white wax is opaque and provides a fantastic canvas for vibrant colors. It requires no additional additives, just add fragrance and dye.

As a bonus, MP-137 is packaged in pastille form for easy scooping and measuring - no hard slabs to break up!

Candle Maker's Notes:
Experiencing sinkholes? As is common for paraffin pillar waxes, MP-137 will require a second pour for most projects due to shrinkage as it cools.

Super easy to work with; having issues with hot throw though…
Josie 2024-02-14

I have enjoyed working with this wax immensely. It’s easy to measure and melt! The only thing is, (it’s probably my fault) I am getting a pretty weak hot throw with this wax. I have even increased my fragrance load to 10% and added vybar to help but it’s still not very strong.

I have read that wider candles tend to have a better hot throw and the mold I use is only about 2in wide. Could that be the issue? Or would you guys have any other suggestions?

Great Wax!

I have been using this wax to make votives, and melts and now I am starting to venture into the world of pillars. Can I add Vybar or Stearic to this wax? Wax is beautiful in color, holds color and fragrance very well and has great HT. Love it and will continue experimenting with it. :)

Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review! I'm glad to hear about your ventures!

Vybar is typically added to waxes that do not contain additives and this specific wax already contains additives. We have found that adding too much Vybar can negatively impact scent throw, so it's not recommended to add to a wax that already contains additives that improve scent throw.

I hope this helps! If we can assist you with anything else please reach out to us at [email protected]

Enjoying it so far

I’m still playing around with this wax. I had some stearic acid I had purchased in 2007 for soap making that I never used. Well I like how the stearic acid increases opacity and helps pillar candles shrink off the molds. I’m going to try making pillars without the stearic acid and use the vybar 103 at 1% for comparison. I have bulk powdered solvent dyes that I sell and I use this wax to max my own color chip concentrates as well. I need to try making wax melts
