Red Liquid Dye for candle wax produces a color ranging from pink to red depending on usage. Your actual experience may vary depending on what type of wax you use and the amount of dye used. We encourage you to experiment.

In soy, deep, rich colors are challenging and standard dye amounts create a washed-out, pastel color. They require 2-3 times the dye that paraffin requires, sometimes more.

  • A 1 oz bottle can color up to 100 lb of soy wax or 200 lb paraffin to a medium shade.
  • A 4 oz bottle can color up to 400 lbs of soy wax or 800 lbs to a medium shade.

Fragrance Oil Recommendations: Strawberry Guava, Magnolia and Peony, Apples and Maple Bourbon, Cinnamon Stick, Macintosh Apple, Red Hot Cinnamon

Note: Due to the extreme concentration of our liquid dyes there is a noticeable odor that will not be detectable at normal usages in finished candles.

The Dropper is a major issue

I love the colors I can make, but this dropper leaves more color on my gloves, drops extra drops. I hope that this can be an easy fix.

Not the colors shown on the label

Now that I am leaving the review I am looking at the difference in colors between the red liquid dye I received and the ones on your site. My label shows a lighter red color and a dark red with more drops. This site shows pink and a nice red with more drops.

Since my label shows a different shade of red than the website, I added 3 drops to my first batch thinking that would be the shade I was going to get. I got pink (which per your website is correct, but not the same from my label). I added 6 drops to my next batch thinking maybe I'd get a nice red then, if not a dark one. I got a more vibrant pink, but definitely not a red.

Nice Red

This liquid dye is wonderful - works perfect for my in my in-house coconut soy blend. 1 drop in 16 oz of wax/fragrance oil combo delivers a pale pink, each drop you add will do a nice job of enriching the color until desired color. I get a wonderful fairly deep red on 4 drops. Works great for me!

Love this liquid dye!

I'm a complete klutz when it comes to using liquid dye. My previous supplier sold dyes in dropper bottles but they were so messy that I can't even read the labels because dye has dripped down the sides covering them. Not to mention the stains on my table, tools, and whatever else came in contact with the bottle.

I ordered several of these to try out and I absolutely LOVE them! Not only am I using LESS to dye the same amount of wax, but there is literally no mess whatsoever. Using the dropper is so much easier than squeezing a bottle, and I feel it's more consistent. I'm definitely going to order the rest of the colors you sell because I need them all!

NOT RED!!

This sucks!!!! This is NOT red, it’s pink!! The more drops I added, the deeper the PINK got! Not to mention the smell! It smells like house paint! Home Depot in a bottle!!! I’m so disappointed.

Great!

I love love love this liquid dye. It's really easy to use, easy to mix, and gives off a lovely range of colors. A few drops should do the trick, so be sparing and this bottle will last you a while! My one caution would be that obviously the color appears a lot darker in the hot wax than it does when solidified, so if you're going for a particularly deep shade, once you've achieved the color you want in your melted wax, add a few more drops so that when it hardens your desired color remains!!

Terrible

I am SO upset. I ordered this dye to make 100 red candles for a graduating senior class. After putting THIRTY FIVE drops of the dye in the 444 soy wax the candles turned out pink. Not only did I waste HUNDREDS of dollars in the wicks, jars, scent, and wax, I lost a $500 dollar sale due to this. I don't understand why anyone in their right mind could market and sell this as red dye. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated.

Dye Separation

I got great coloration in my candles, but after burning I am getting dye separation in my wax pool. Any ideas on why this is happening?

great dyes

The only company I buy my liquid dyes from. Some don't realize that in soy type of wax you will need to add more to get a true color. In paraffin you use less. These are great true color dyes.
