Strong vanilla, Discolored

OOB, I could definitely pick up the masculine woody tones, but in soap all I can smell is sweet, but not cakey, vanilla. It's not bad, just unexpected based on scent notes and reviews. It also discolored bright yellow at first, but then turned pretty dark brown. I likely won't purchase this again, unless by request, simply because it didn't meet my expectations.

Fun story, though - Pair this with Cardamom & Anise and I SWEAR it smells just like Dr. Pepper!

Amazing Mild Scent

Love this scent! If your looking for a nice cool scent that is not overpowering this is a great choice!

Ammmmmm....

This literally smells like a LITERAL piece of wood! 3 stars because it smells like what its called but won't be attempting to use this. Perhaps it needs a mixer but I'm new to candle making so just looking for straight-up scents for my first collection.

Why is it yellow?

Am I the only one having issues with this turning bright yellow? The scent is decent but this is oddly the only CS oil that I've experienced discoloring.

Owner, Susan's Soaps & Oils

Out of all my fragrances, this is the ONLY one that my Father in law likes. I made soap with it yesterday for the first time, and it behaved beautifully. No ricing, seizing, nothing untoward. Next time I'm ordering a bigger bottle. :-)

Weird On Its Own, Blends Beautifully

By itself this FO to me smells like celery sticks, like the remnants of a failed diet that has lingered in the fridge far too long, is what it reminds me of haha. However.. When I blend it with other FO's, it adds a neutral yet distinct wood quality to a blend and the strange celery note vanishes. Try doing a 3:1 blend between this FO and vanilla FO to see (smell) what I mean. 2:1:1 blend of this FO, a vanilla FO and a black pepper FO was pretty amazing. The Driftwood FO held its own with a neutral wood quality at just 50% of the blend, wasn't loud but was definitely notably present in the character of the overall scent, again sans weird celery smell. I recommend getting a sample of this FO to play with if you like to make multi-FO blends.

Love.

I used 464 with 8% FL. Will try 10%. I love this smell, but wish it gave better throws!

One of my faves!

Right out of the bottle, I was in love. This is hands down one of my favorite fragrance oils EVER from any supplier. It's earthy and nostalgic. It makes for the best mixer and if CS ever stops selling this, I'm in big trouble because I use it for one of my favorite blends. Its great on its own as well. Good in 464.

Cold, not hot

Love the cold throw of this one, so much that I'm determined to keep trying with it. But overall I haven't been impressed with the hot throw. Maybe it just needs a really long cure time? I've tried it in 464, 10%, with one and two week cure times and can barely smell it in my bathroom, which is small. It's such a nice smell, though!

Mysterious

Beautiful, mysterious fragrance that comes across slightly masculine but popular with woman customers. Definitely ordering more.
