Product Notice: This product is available under the name 8 oz. Jelly Jar (1640). In order to mitigate stock delays through COVID, we temporarily had two sources of identical containers. This listing is no longer needed.

The 8 oz. jelly jar has a slightly tapered body and is approximately 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) wide by 3.75 inches (9.5 cm) tall. It is the largest in our Jelly line. We also carry a 4 oz. Jelly Jar.

Are you new to candle making? The 8 oz jelly jar is the perfect container for our How to Make a Soy Candle tutorial.

Note: Labeling these jars can be a bit tricky due to the gently tapered shape of the container. While the Max Label Size is technically 8.375" x 3" (21.3 cm x 7.6 cm), we do not recommend fully wrapping the jar in a label because it may wrinkle. A smaller square or oval label would be easier to apply. Sample labels are displayed below.

I love these

These jars are my second favorite followed by the Libbey Straight Sided jars. They are really nice and easy to work with. The shipping is always top notch and not 1 jar came broken. I'm still working on the wick but I use Coconut Soy and it appears a lot of makers here use GB 464 or 444 wax. So far, these will be replacing other jars I purchased earlier this year. They are a keeper and are appealing with the right label. Thanks CS for your excellent options and customer service.

NEED Help with the right wick!!

If there is anyone making candles with the 444 soy wax and using the 8oz jelly jars and the 8oz mason jars can you PLEASE tell me what wicks you are using that actually burn right. I love the jars but have a very hard time getting the right wick without having a puddle or the wick forming a mushroom while burning. I have tried CD12 and candle science recommendation CD10 and runner up ECO 10. Please help!!
Thank you so much!!

Labels?

Love the jars but they recommend the 2.5x4 label from Avery. I CANNOT get the labels to go straight or smooth on the jar. Is there a right or wrong way to put these labels on? Am I missing something?

One of these jars can fill a 13'x20' room with fragrance

I used 7 oz of GB 464 soy wax + 0.7 oz fragrance (snickerdoodle from candlescience) and CD 10 wick (185 F melt temp and 130 F pour temp). The jar was filled to the very top and couldn't hold a drop more, so I will probably use 6 oz of wax next time. The melt pool reached the edges of the container in ~3 hours during the first burn. Hot throw is decent in my living room, which is a 13' x 20' space with one half wall open that leads into a hallway. I wouldn't be surprised if it could handle bigger rooms. Overall, I am very pleased with this jar size for candles. I miiiight try the CD 12 wick next time and see how that changes things. I would rather have a full melt pool in ~2 hours but not at the cost of great hot throw.

Love My Jars

The 8oz Jelly Jars works well with my 464 GB Soy Wax. I am a business owner and my customers love my candles. I used ECO 10-6 wicks and I have no problem.
