Love the jars but they recommend the 2.5x4 label from Avery. I CANNOT get the labels to go straight or smooth on the jar. Is there a right or wrong way to put these labels on? Am I missing something?

Product Notice April 22, 2021: The manufacturer of the 8 oz. Jelly Jar was forced to temporarily close their U.S. plant. They offer the same container from their overseas plant. As a temporary solution to keep this container in stock, we will be switching to the imported 8 oz. Jelly Jar from the same manufacturer. We hope to move back to the original, Made in USA 8 oz. Jelly Jar by Late Summer 2021.
The 8 oz. jelly jar has a slightly tapered body and is approximately 2.5 inches wide by 3.75 inches tall. It is the largest in our Jelly line. We also carry a 4 oz. Jelly Jar.
Note: Labeling these jars can be a bit tricky due to the gently tapered shape of the container. While the Max Label Size is technically 8.375" x 3", we do not recommend fully wrapping the jar in a label because it may wrinkle. A smaller square or oval label would be easier to apply. Sample labels are displayed below.
Tops are sold separately.
The 8 oz. Jelly Jar works with any of the #70 G Threaded lids; antique gold, black, gold, gold plastisol-lined, silver, pewter, rustic, white, or pewter daisy.
How much will it hold?
Wax Weight (to Fill Line) - 6.2 oz.
Volume (to Overflow) - 8.3 fl. oz.

Several jars in this last order have came with defects. I've counted 27 so far with air/bubbles warps, seemingly random gouge marks or cracks. I already have many of these cases pre-ordered and paid for Christmas Gifts. I am not done quality checking all these yet, only 11 cases out of the 20 from my last order that's averaging atleast 2 from each case. This is hurting my Christmas sales as I already am not going to be able to stock certain candle fragrances now due to defective jars. These are serious fire hazards for anyone unlucky enough to miss these issues. This is very discouraging and I don't want to damaged my or CandleScience's reputation with this kind of product. Let alone risk someone's life unaware of a candle burning and popping the glass. I need more jars and I really need them like yesterday. Please respond asap. Covid 19 already made huge cut in my business, last thing I need is faulty candles for Christmas orders.

I used 7 oz of GB 464 soy wax + 0.7 oz fragrance (snickerdoodle from candlescience) and CD 10 wick (185 F melt temp and 130 F pour temp). The jar was filled to the very top and couldn't hold a drop more, so I will probably use 6 oz of wax next time. The melt pool reached the edges of the container in ~3 hours during the first burn. Hot throw is decent in my living room, which is a 13' x 20' space with one half wall open that leads into a hallway. I wouldn't be surprised if it could handle bigger rooms. Overall, I am very pleased with this jar size for candles. I miiiight try the CD 12 wick next time and see how that changes things. I would rather have a full melt pool in ~2 hours but not at the cost of great hot throw.
The 8oz Jelly Jars works well with my 464 GB Soy Wax. I am a business owner and my customers love my candles. I used ECO 10-6 wicks and I have no problem.
These jars have made my holiday season sellers disappear. They are so cute, people love them and I love them BECAUSE of the base. We can include all the candle care cards we want but someone WILL burn the candle all the way down if they can. These bases make it near impossible for someone to put themselves in a dangerous situation (via burning it all the way down, there are plenty of other dangers out there lol).
This jar is just perfect no matter the size of the room your customer is trying to make smell awesome... I love these jars...
I LOVE these jars and have been using them for months. This last month that I have been using them, EVERY candle has a sinkhole. It has become so exhausting spending hours of correction for each candle. I do not know what I am doing wrong, ive tried EVERYTHING and these used to work so great for me! Im desperate for some help as all other jars this size are out of stock so even if I wanted to change jars I don't have other options.

I LOVE THESE JARS!!!!! so cute and go perfect for my Holiday collection, I have ordered about 60 cases now and not 1 jar has came broken or damaged. Thank you so much candle science!! I might keep these throughout the year as they have been such a huge hit
I love these, they're my current go-to jar, but I wish the bottom was level. Wicking with the slightly concave base is really hard, and half the time I'm hoping the wax doesn't get too far underneath the sticker and peel it off.
Received 108 jars 11/11/20 and all in great condition!! And received them on the next day! I can’t wait to test and make them!
Recieved in perfect in condition..... Tysm CS
Despite the listing, it's easy to fit exactly 6oz of wax in these jars, and I love ithe easy math and labelling I can achieve as a result. If you fill to the base of the fill line, it's just under, but if you fill to the top of the fill line, it comes out to 6oz. The sides are the wonderful, smooth sides that I miss on mason jars, and these jars are surprisingly sturdy, especially when they're filled with wax; I've only had one customer mention cracked jars in shipment, and that wasn't the jar's fault!
I ordered roughly 3 dozen jars before encountering my first broken jars the first time I ordered 2 dozen at once. CandleScience was super responsive and quick and I had replacements by the end of the week!
I made a review on 10/28/20 about receiving broken jars, but Candle Science’s customer service is top notch. They reached out to me and after confirming I received broken jars, they sent me a replacement order. The jars are perfect! Thanks a ton! :)
I ordered 2 dozen of these amazing jars and they were perfect... only one came broken... my only problem is that i think they should be packed with more care for shipping and perhaps a "fragile" on the box... There was no indication that glass was in this box and only the little foam pellets inside at the bottom... i would be more careful when shipping glass...
...but mine arrived broken.
Hi! We're sorry to hear about your damaged jars! We've reached out to assist.
These are great jars. However, I'm a little confused as to why everyone is labeling the jars as 8oz. Unless it is filled completely to the rim, it's not 8oz. The net weight is supposed to be the weight of the wax. I typically fit about 6.8oz of wax in my jars. Just throwing this out there, since it's technically illegal to over estimate the net weight.
I received my jars quicker than I was expecting! And am very pleased! I ordered 2 cases of 12 ...My only problem was that the boxes were not sealed properly and in my opinion not packed sufficient to protect the glass properly.. there were cardboard dividers between the jars with just some styrofoam pellets at the bottom of the box... the only indication on the box that it was a glass package was at the bottom of the box ... but i was very relieved that only 1 jar of the 24 was broken. Very Happy with my purchase but hopeful that the company will package glass more carefully ... Would have definitely given 5 stars if the packaging was better but everything else is perfect!
These were my first jars that I used to practice. I used C3 and 464 wax both burned great with an ECO 10 wick. My question is what size label would you suggest using?
So, I am using 464 Soy Wax and CD8 wicks with my 4oz and 8oz Jelly Jars. When the candles burns for about an hour, it appears to tunnel and not burn wide and even. I see that this is the recommended wick, but what other wicks would you recommend to remedy this? I use CD18 for my 8oz tins but think those may be too much wick for this container. Please advise... Thanks!
I like these containers very much. I have been selling my candles at the farmers market and have had no complaints.
When I started, I just used mason jars from the store. I'm so glad I finally found a more professional jar that looks the exact same! I also love the simple design of it! It really let's my labels shine!
I love these Jar super cute.
Great jars. Simple and effective. Has anyone printed an Avery label for this jar and what size(s) would you recommend?
I just got the 8oz jelly jars (love the size)and also bought the para/soy blend wax (IGI 6006). Am afraid I got the wrong wax and wick size (HTP104). Could that be true? and got all wrong items for that jar?
I am about to purchase the container, but what wick would you recommend for C3 wax? Would it be the CD 8 as well?
What wick would you recommend when using Naturewax C3 in these jars?
I love these jars but my question is
Which wicks work best for these jars
I'm using 464 soy wax
Hi! We'd recommend testing with either an ECO 8 or a CD 8 wick for these jars and the 464 wax. Depending on your particular recipe, you may find that you'll need to wick up or down after a burn test. We'd be happy to troubleshoot further if you'd like to reach out to us at email@example.com!
Hi B Rose,
Warm your jars up in the oven or heat gun and lower your pour point to 120 instead. This what I do for mines, but sometimes Soy does that it’s not the jar. Great jar. Good luck
Hello! Maybe someone can help me out with this.. I am having some serious trouble getting the wax to adhere to these jars. I am using 464 golden brand wax, pouring between 145-150. We live in FL so the average temperature of the house is about 74/75. I have tried to cool these jars in different rooms of the home and nothing seems to be making a difference. ): I love these jars and so do my buyers but I have wasted wicks, stickers, and most importantly time because I have had to reheat and melt these back down to repour. I am heating them in the microwave to repour and this seems to work every time but just not logical. PLEASE HELP.
Great size for candles. Love these jars!
Love these! 464 wax with ECO 10 wick works great!
I make jellies and jam to sell at farmers markets. I live in NC so I drive and pick up my order . I have never had anything but a good experience from this company and the jars .And I Have recommended them to other friends. I love being able to buy local and save on shipping!
For a while, I was using the metal tins for my candles, but a friend of mine suggested the jelly jars when I was looking for something new. I adore them! Their size is perfect and they burn well; I use the 464 Soy Wax with an ECO 12 wick. I will definitely be buying these from now on!
These jars are great for making a substantial candle that won't break the customer's bank. I had to do a lot of wick testing, though since the wick guide didn't give me the right suggestion. I started with GB 464 and Eco 10 Wick. My flame was large, the melt pool was greater than 1/2", there was mushrooming, and the candles smoked excessively when blown out. I then tested the Eco 8 and Eco 6 in the same shot. I still had Mushrooming and a dancing flame with the 8. The Eco 6 took a little longer to spread across the whole top, but after about 2 hours, it was burning cleanly with no mushrooming, a safe sized flame, and melt pool under 1/2". I'm excited to have the correct sized wicks now so I can start pumping out candles in this jar. Remember to order a wick sample pack and do your own testing.
Using an ECO-10 wick in GB464 Soy, half-pint jelly jars are the cleanest burning candles I have ever made - 1/2" melt pool to the sides of the glass without mushrooming or soot. Great variety of lids available to finish off the look.
I love all of the Candlescience products I've purchased and used as well as these jars. Tried other jars as well but these are my favorite! Purchasing more after trying other jars!
I have been using these 8 oz jelly jars for 3 years with ecosoya cb135 and an eco 8 wick. They burn evenly and great scent throw. Perfect match for my 4 oz jelly jars. Thank you :)
I use Eco14 wick with the jelly jar. Gb464 wax. Burns well and I get a great hot throw. Glass gets hot after a while but I like the melt pool.
I have used the 8 oz jelly jar now for about 15 years. I just took a jar and filled it almost to the top and it was a full 8 ounces. It is a very good selling jar.
Crystal, this jar is sized by fluid ounce, you are probably measuring your filled jar by the weight less the tare on the scale. Take a 1 cup measuring cup, fill with water and pour the water into your jar and I believe the jar will hold the entire cup of water.
This says it holds 8 oz well no it does not it holds 4.5 ounces and that clear to the top. Not happy about this, How am I gonna pass these off as being 8 oz. LIe LIe LIe
i think it's perfect size for little gift.
i ordered 24bottles of 8oz.
i am satisfied.
Hi are the jars glass??
Can this jar fit in the tumbler box that you have? please any let me know , i need to place a big orders asap.
i purchased this jar and would like suggestion on wick preferences. which wick work best with this 8 oz jar
I use these jars with comfort blend & the LX wicks. The results are fab! They are easy to work with & the Comfort Blend adheres to them really well. They also look great with the rustic lid. Rustic yet elegant at the same time. :)
These jars are easy to fill and label. The end results are awesome. I love the way that the IGI 4627 "comfort-blend" wax adheres to the sides.
I have been using this jar sents 2005 and have never had a problrm at all.
