I was looking for the perfect masculine scent that would still appeal to my female clientele. After reading the reviews I decided to go with this oil. Smelling it from the bottle was amazing but I wasn’t certain if it would carry over to a strong hot throw. MAN OH MAN! This scent does not disappoint and doesn’t need to be mixed with any other fragrance oil. One candle will surely fill up your whole home with a beautiful aroma. It is spot on with the notes listed. I can’t wait to get this to my clients
There is a hair oil I've used for years. It smells so good that some people (including me) have worn it on their skin. I could NEVER figure out what the fragrance was made up of. Now I have. This is what Marrakesh Oil smells like - though the hair product is probably a little bit heavier on the Tonka scent. There is another note in the hair product that I have yet to identify.
Now I will need to buy more of this. I've been using it as a personal fragrance in an oil and a lotion.
This is a strong smell. Kind of gave me a headache while mixing it in my candle wax. It's been sitting for a while (also got some on my hands) and it smells like a sweet cigar with maple and vanilla. More maple than vanilla. It's different, but not bad. I'm going to put some in my wax warmer tomorrow to test if further.
Got this fragrance as a sample with my last order and I absolutely love it.
This might be my favorite scent so far. It's amazing on its own- good cold throw and very good hot throw. Perfect for people who like warm food-like scents, I find it has strong notes of brown sugar. A little experimentation revealed that if you blend it 4:1 with Very Vanilla, you get instantly recognizable butterscotch pudding. A little brown dye and the candles come out looking good enough to eat!
This fragrance is really strong! My entire house smelled for days when I made these candles. Unfortunately, I really disliked the fragrance. In fairness, I am not a huge fan of warm, vanilla type candles. However, this scent took it to a whole new level. I despise this fragrance wholeheartedly. I believe another reviewer hit the nail on the head when they mentioned it smelled like a maple syrup factory being burned to the ground. I needed these candles out of my house so I threw them away.
I ordered this because of all the other rave reviews, but i didn't like it as much as everyone else seems to. This scent isn't bad...but it is hard to identify the notes in it for what they are. It has a strong hot throw but a weak cold throw. I personally don't mind it, but it isn't the most well received scent in my shop. I will not continue to offer it.
My Love Letter to Coriander & Tonka: Really can’t place my finger on a scent description. This smells so so so good in body butter and body wash. If you don’t have unscented liquid soap on hand, run down to the grocery store, buy unscented liquid soap (preferably Castile), and add this at 3%. I love it soooooo much! This is perfect any time of year. And if you’re reading this comment during one of the infamous $0.99 sales, do yourself a favor and pick this up. It’s warm. It’s dark. It’s kinda spicy. Sexy, I dare say? Definitely for those of us that like heavier scents. I can’t get enough.
I don't typically like heavier scents, but oh man, this may be my new favorite scent...amazing cold and hot throw! I'm doing test burns with this scent right now, and I'm always sad to have to blow out my candle...I just want to smell it all day! (Although I have to say, the scent does hang around awhile, which is great!) I wish I made body products as well because I'd be making everything I could with this scent. So yummy!
This is such a wonderful scent. I used it blended with a little sandalwood and juniper in CO soap and it was heavenly. I will definitely be ordering some more to try with my candles.
I absolutely love this fragrance, I use it in the 464 & 444.
This is an amazing FO. One of my most popular. I call it Sweet Tobacco and it brings a lot of people back to their dads or grandpas smoking a pipe. Very strong throw. Sweet and sultry.
If you think you’ve smelled every scent out there and you need a new one I say try this one! It smells really good mixed with Cedar essential oil!
After reading some reviews I was hesitant to purchase but I’m so glad I did!!
Sweet and spicy !! Very strong scent and will be great for customers that love a high scented candle.
This is by far, my favorite go-to FO as a base for my blends. Certainly not for the customer who is looking for light, delicate scents. This is spicy, heavy and has the best throw, hot or cold, of all the FO's I've tried thus far. If you are looking for a super warm, cozy fragrance, to use alone or blended, this is your girl!
This FO has a distinct aroma that smells like nothing I've smelled before. We love it and our customers do too. Very different, in a good way!
This scent is soooo nice. The hot & cold throw is so on point. This is definitely one of my favorites!!
This scent smells like burning plastic to me. Not spicy, but kind of maple syrupy. It ruined the silicon mold I tested it in for wax melts. Gave me a horrible headache, and 2 weeks later I'm still catching wafts of burnt tire.
This is an exotic scent that is a little too "spicy" for me, but others seem to enjoy it. Used in 464 Soy Wax at 1oz/1lb, nice strong cold throw, waiting on cure times to determine hot throw.
I think this is going to be a love or hate fragrance, probably nothing in between. It is a rich, cozy, exotic fragrance that probably fits into the gourmand spice/oriental family of fragrances, unisex, and nice for when the temperatures drop in the fall and winter, very subtle hints of tobacco blended out with amber/vanilla notes. I don't get coriander, but I think that is what gives it the unusual twist and brings it to life. Reminds me of the perfume, Chergui by Serge Lutens. Very strong hot throw at 10% in a soy blend.
I really like this one. It is strong, but I'm disappointed by weaker fragrances. This one will definitely fill a room.
Ive tried around 80 scents from CS so far and this is by far the most interesting, heartwarming, deep and complex scent.... You scent caramel, chocolate, spices maybe? Id say its from the same 'family' as Chai Tea Latte, but doesn't remind dessert or doesn't have any sweetness... I just can't stop burning my candle!!!
The scent is HEAVY. We typically use 1oz. of scent to 1lb. of wax, since this scent is so heavy right out of the bottle, I dropped the scent content down to .5oz. per 1lb. of wax. The smell is very odd. I was not sold on the scent from the moment I received it, but I figured I would try it and once in the candle I was still not into the smell. My kids say it smells like syrup... I say it smells a bit like sweet candied marshmallow and a bit of musk. It's VERY HEAVY and overwhelming. I usually love ALL CS scents, but this one struck out for us.
Coriander & Tonka has become my number one FO and I have gained a new following. Every where I go, I received compliments on what I'm wearing. My husband smells the tobacco (man nose) and others (more women than men) really love it. I was getting my car serviced and one of the male employees kept giving me compliments and I was in a high end department store and the assistant manager asked what I was wearing and even smelt my arm (haha). I've used this FO in wax melts, lotion, body wash, lotion bar and roll-on perfume. The cold and hot throw on this is excellent. I do allow my wax melts to cure for at least a week with this FO. I use 464. For those not loving it in wax, try using it in bath and body products, your customers will love it.
This FO has VERY strong hot & cold throw in GB444 & 464. That being said, this scent made me nauseous and I don't have a weak stomach. OOB it was okaaaay and I hoped I would love it. One comment said it smells like black licorice. I wish. Once it was in wax it had this note to it that reminded me of the sickening sweet smell that's a part of decomposition (as in animal decomposition). Because I associate it with that I just couldn't do it. My daughter loved it OOB but when she used a tart in her warmer she said it was so awful that she had to dump it within a few minutes & air the house out. I dumped everything I made with it & threw the bottle out.
Perhaps if you already know what Tonka smells like and you already know you like it, you might like this oil.
This smells like black licorice. I wanted to like it so bad because the reviews are so good for it but this is just not at all for me. I don't know if I got a weird bottle or what and I also haven't smelled it in finished candle form. I just poured a batch and I'm not in love so far. We'll see when I burn the candles.
Following up on my last review of this scent from SOOB. I mixed this fragrance oil at a 10% ratio in CB Advanced soy wax when the wax temp. was 185*F. Then let cool to 135*F and hand-poured into 8oz wide mouth mason jars (with crackling wood wicks!) and the cold and hot throws are simply AMAZING!! Room-filling, if not house-filling! Such a lovely and sultry sweetness that is absolutely intoxicating. Highly recommend this scent to anyone who likes sweet and savory fragrances!
If this scent were edible, I'd eat it. It makes me want to eat it even more than the CS scents, "Cinnamon Buns" and "Creme Brûlée"! I haven't poured it yet, but OOB it is just heavenly in my opinion. Just the right balance of everything. I can't wait to burn this fragrance in EcoSoya CB Advanced Soy!
This scent has become a *major* seller for me and is equally appreciated by men and women alike. The complex ambery aroma is mysterious and warm. Outstanding throw in GB464 both hot and cold.
I really love this scent. Has a nice cold throw with 464.
I hated this scent in the bottle and almost didn't make any candles. After I decided to make it, it smelled great!!! I was pleasantly surprised! You definitely can't judge this scent until you make it! Sort of a fresh scent!
Love this fragrance and is very popular with my customers! It is unusual & complex-women & men love it. Reminds me of an old-fashioned tobacco shop. Strong cold & hot throw with GB444.
Not a favorite. It's very sweet and syrupy, but just has an odd something about it that makes me want to gag. To me, it seems like a cross between an overly sweet dessert and something that's inedible hitting the senses at the same time, and I just can't handle it.
My husband and I made candles for our relatives for Christmas last year and my family is still asking about this scent. They said it smelled like a dream. I have received numerous texts "When can we expect another green candle from you guys? It smells amazing." Masculine, sweet and with a lingering warmth it really is our favorite scent.
This is my absolute favorite scent! But, when I used it in cold process soap, I was disappointed when it discolored to an ugly yellow-brown color. Smelled great, though!
Used with 464 - amazing throw at 1 oz/lb. This is a great unisex scent.
This is a very warm smell. It is mostly the tonka coming through which smells a lot like vanilla. Ive had people tell me it smells like maple syrup, pancakes, and pumpkin spice. But everyone really likes it a lot and not too strong. Not a lot of people have heard of tonka bean so you have to explain, or you can just change the name to vanilla spice or something.
Coriander and Tonka is my absolute favorite FO. I can't tell you how many times someone has walked in our shop and said, "I want what you are burning." Love it! Strong throw in 6006 and 464.
This is one of our top sellers. It has the scent that reminds me of whiskey and a cigar. It is THE most favored candle by men.
There aren't many fragrances that I can't stand, but this is one. I made some candles and I have to store them in a closet because I can't handle the scent. I will say, just because it isn't may favorite doesn't mean it's not going to be yours. It's a very complex, maple scent
Yuck. It smells like hazelnut, Strong hazelnut.
I bought a 1 oz bottle a few months ago. I was hesitant to use it because I didn't like the smell right out of the bottle. I finally gave in and made a small batch. I was very surprised to find out I loved it. Great hot and cold throw in GB464.
Very weird and indescribable. It's heavy on the spices but more exotic than the typical baking spices most candle people are used to. It's definitely unique but I haven't found a customer who is in love with it.
Bought this on a whim based on the reviews. Made a batch of candles with it and I can tell I like it, but it's really hard to identify what I smell. Initial thoughts are warm, thick, sultry, mildly sweet. It's simultaneously familiar and foreign. I asked numerous friends to tell me what images came to mind when they smelled it and a consistent theme arose that surprised me: the most common thing people said was that this scent smells like maple syrup... but in darker, sexier way. I'm not sure how I'm going to encapsulate the idea of "sexy breakfast" with my title but I'll do my best! You're better off just naming it after its ingredients, ha. Anyway, really unique and pleasant scent.
Very nice scent! Definitely try this if you can!
I would be SO happy if they made this one B&B safe! The smell is so intoxicating, I have a hard time letting these ones go!
I have to add my voice to the chorus of folks who love this scent. It is really heavenly. I'll be sad to sell this one because I want to keep them all for myself :) The scent is smooth, mellow, and sexy. The scent is similar to baking spices, but grown up and more creamy. It's somehow sweet without being childish or overtly feminine... give it a try! I used 1oz/lb in gb 464 with great results.
The name is dead on. Top notes of a rich, sweet (but not bakery) vanilla come to life & mellow out the true-to-life coriander middle notes. I had to crush some coriander from my spice rack to be sure, and this FO is dead on. The top & middle notes alone are so unique & beautifully sophisticated I would be thrilled to stop there, but CS went above & beyond with the most pleasing, mouth watering tobacco base notes I have ever smelt. Non smokers love this tobacco - it is out of this world. All of those notes together make a truly unique & wide appealed scent. Words can't do this one justice - simply awesome.
I am in love! I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this sample. I must say that I will be ordering a large quantity real soon. This my new favorite! Great hot and cold throw using 464!
This is one of the most unique scents I've ever come across! I love it! I'm certain my clients are going to insist on this remaining a staple in my line! Thanks for another great scent Candle Science! <3
