I love this one for my fall collection! I renamed it Crisp Autumn Morning, as opposed to Falling Leaves from 2020, and my customers LOVE it! I have sold out of this scent in two weeks!

Adding to my previous review - wondering what people have done for success with hot throw/strength as I get none. This is the only fragrance i've tried that fails in the hot throw area. Would love to know what works for others because I do love the cold throw! Thanks!
Similar to other reviewers i am getting ZERO hot throw. I've tried at 10% and 11% in 464 - the cold throw is great, but no hot throw at all. I haven't had this issue with any of my other fragrance oils so far. Disappointing because i love the scent, it's perfect for Fall. Really bummed I can't use it.
I wasn't sure how I felt about this one out of the bottle (some notes almost reminded me of old spice or aftershave), so I decided to blend it 50/50 with "Apples and Maple Bourbon" to try to mask that and the result was surprisingly a really nice fall apple scent!
This FO has a great hot throw - I personally do not love everything pumpkin spice/cinnamon for fall, but this scent has the perfect amount of earthiness and spice to it. It smells heavenly and I cannot wait to release it in my fall collection!
This FO really is fall in a bottle! The OOB smell is very inviting and it holds up well in MP. Fan favorite of the season! It reminds me of the wooden, rustic home-goods shops. Very warm, inviting. Definitely has a solid "spice" smell but not enough to turn someone off to it if they don't care for cinnamon. Love it!
I really love this smell but its just a little too faint. Maybe my customers that like more toned down smells will like it
I like this fragrance oil a lot for fall. It smells smoky and it’s a more manly fragrance for fall. The throw is great as well.
Unfortunately, I purchased a 4oz bottle in which I only used 1oz of and have no plans of using anymore of it. I really expected this to be a super autumn scent, but after my first batch my nose was so irritated and it gave me a massive headache. I don't think it's a chemical issue, I just think I personally did not react well to the fragrance itself on this one. I hadn't had an issue with any of the other scents I've purchased through Candle Science. My advice, get this in a sample or just the 1oz bottle before committing to a larger sized bottle. I wish I would have done that myself. You may like it, but it just wasn't pleasant to me.
HT with this one is amazing, brings back memories of my childhood when my mom would take me and my brother to an Indian bargain store that would be filled with the smell of burning incense. I also agree with previous reviews, this definitely needs to be renamed, not autumnal at all. one thing I did notice was I had to wick down in igi 6006, I used 8% fragrance load.
I don't really smell leaves in this, which is a note I am eternally looking for. Instead of a dry, woody, dusty greenish smell, this is foody gourmand all the way. It smells like an apple crumble; VERY heavy on the brown sugar, a lilt of apples and a bunch of bakery spice. It's too sweet for me as well, but renamed might make a nice alternate to pumpkin pie scents for fall craft show soaps.
l expected a more fresher scent though. My husband likes the scent but I dont like it at all. I can't figure out if its the chrysanthemum or pecan note.
My step-brother really did like this scent but I did not. It is definitely more of a masculine scent. It smells like you're outside burning something while drinking whiskey. Very unique though.
definitely love most of the scents I order but this was a old rotten perfume smell I just can’t even sell... I messaged about returning the oils which are unused but they never respond to emails 🥺
Hi there! A member of our support team has reached out via email to offer further assistance!
I agree, it doesn’t smell like leaves to me, BUT it smells amazinggggg. I’ve gotten a lot of good feedback on my testers. I think I will label it “Apple Cider.”
The first time I smelled this ootb I wasn’t sure. But that may be because it was middle of summer and it just didn’t fit my mindset. Once it was. Loser to Fall and I made my first Candle with it.... wow! CS absolutely nailed it! Love this FO and it’s one of my best sellers.
We were pleasantly surprised by this scent! We are just getting into our candle business, and this is quickly becoming a top seller in our fall line. I do not think the name depicts the smell, as it does not smell like leaves to me. The reviews we are getting from customers is that it is warm and cozy, and reminds them of fall shopping at local markets. Definitely would recommend this scent!
I made few 8 oz candles couple of weeks ago using 464 wax with this fragrance, amazing CT and HT! I can't get enough of this fall fragrance and I just want to burn this candle scent everyday!! Thank you for this amazing fragrance! This is a must have fall scent!!
Fallen leaves smells drastically different in the bottle compared to its scent in soy wax. In the bottle all I could smell was the cedar, sandalwood and cinnamon, which was weird but ok. I used 1oz fo and 16oz 464 wax and let it cure 24 hrs before disturbing it. The next day, the cold throw was gorgeous, the apple really comes through, the cinnamon is more delicate and the woody notes add some elegance. The hot throw close up is equally as nice, but I wicked my candle wrong so it's hard to tell its strength.
Fallen leaves really blooms once it’s in the soy. It’s a truly great scent to have on board for those who want fall without all the baked goods and pumpkins. I genuinely love it!
Great cold throw, hot throw nothing using 6006. First time experiencing this issue with Candle Science. Getting the same results with Cranberry Woods. Removing these two scents from my fall collection. Overall Candle Science is my number one go to, hope the can revamp these two scents.
I am in love with this scent. It smells so good and is so perfect for Fall.
I love this scent is so autumn vibe that I'm thinking to make it as a signature. The CT and HT both are amezing
This is a great leaves scent. I’ve smelled others, but they were very artificial and terrible. This one is well balanced and customers love it. They say they prefer this over BBW’s same scent.
I was not totally impressed with the OOB smell but once I added it to the wax in the pot I was blown away and I was instantly in love! I did a burn test on my candle today and the hot throw was so strong! I used 10% of it in my candles. I will be purchasing lots more of this oil!
It smells great on the bottle but I used 9% of FO on a 9 ounce candle and the scent was very weak!
I wouldn't say so much that it smells like leaves but one sniff and the first word that comes to mind is "Autumn". A strong, powerful scent that's easy to enjoy. Great fragrance!
Absolutely love this, excellent HT and CT. Tried it with soy 464 at 6%.
This is one of my favorite fall scents and a fabulous seller for us! We did change the name, but it smells just like every house should in the fall! Love it!
When I first opened the bottle and smelled this scent I was not that impressed. To me, it smells good but right off it didn't have that crispness that I would have wanted. So I mixed in a very small amount of Macintosh Apple and it smells amazing in the wax so far! I wouldn't advise adding a lot of the Apple scent because it can take over the entire scent. I can't wait to try it once it's cured.
My customers LOVE the scent! Works great for me in GB464
Okay, yes, this is nothign at all like leaves. I really wanted something that smelled like that dry, crunchy greenish pile of leaves you get in autumn. This is not that, remotely. What it IS, is pumpkim pie spice, apples and brown sugar. There's a slightly dirty note that might be the hint of actual fallen leaves, but it's very far back and buried. Mostly, this smells a lot like an apple crumble; HEAVY brown sugar, some apples and spice. That being said, it's a really delicious super sweet apple crumble, so it still has use and value. But it should be renamed.
Maybe i got a bad batch but This scent doesn't smell anything like leaves. If anything it smells more like Apple Sauce or Apple cider than anything else.
This fragrance is one of my best sellers! My customers say it reminds them of the aroma of a stroll through a beautiful autumn forest!
Love this fragrance, bestseller every year!
I used 11% of this FO in soy and I'm still not getting enough hot throw. My room is small so I expected much more from this FO. The cold throw is good, and it is a nice fall scent. Just a bit disappointing
Absolutely love this scent! It held up beautifully during baking.
This has become one of my favorite candle scents. When I have this candle burning, I imagine myself strolling through the Target home decor section with unlimited funds. I feel like I've folded my all laundry, paid my bills, made doctors' appointments, and gotten my car's oil changed, and now it's time to kick back with a Manhattan and some fancy cheese. This is a sophisticated scent. Not for everyone, I agree. But if they ever discontinue it, I'll have to search elsewhere for a scent that creates the illusion of a well-assembled life. Maybe Cedar Vanilla.
To truly appreciate this scent and all it has to offer, make a candle with it. Even better. Dona year burn and you.will have a wow factor
This fragrance definitely has lots of layers and I was confused by it in the the bottle... BUT it all came together when added into the wax and WOW was it amazing a nice cozy perfume fragrance with beautiful fall spices. We're in love!
This scent smells amazing. I read that some people threw it away after smelling it right out of the bottle, but I think that’s a mistake. It smells soooo different in wax, very heavenly in my opinion. I’ve learned that I can never trust what a scent smells like right out of the bottle. It really is important to test it out, even if it is just a small little candle. I’ve changed my mind on so many scents this way, both for the good and bad. Some scents that I thought were definitely going to be a hit because of how well I thought the FO smelled turned out not so great. This one, though, is a winner in my book.
I'm really shocked to see the recent bad reviews, because this is one of my favorite fragrances from candle science - and I'm extremely picky. I don't smell anything like leaves but it's a solidly good autumn scent. I pick up on notes of crisp apple, warm spices, a touch of caramel and maybe some woodsy notes. I don't pick up on leather or fireside like some other reviews said, and certainly not a moldy smell. The cold and hot throw in 464 is solidly good.
I really thought this one was going to turn out to be one of my favorites but I was disappointed. I can’t really describe how it smelled because I opened the bottle once to smell it and then threw it out immediately. I guess I’d say it was more of an incense-y smell but kind of perfume-y? Anyway, it seems quite a lot of people like the smell but it was so strong and unpleasant for me that I just didn’t even try mixing it with anything to see if it would balance out.
I bought this to make candle , open it smell bad scent, now i have to mixes it with something else so it does smell like leave moldy smell , wouldn’t buy this scent againt
This scent is very nice, but I have no clue where the fallen leaves scent is. This had more in common with the fireside scent then it did anything of fallen leaves. Though I couldn't find the leaf scent, I did think it was a nice scent and more of a toned down version of fireside.
Read other reviews then went ahead and ordered this. I’m not sorry that I did. It’s very nice in melts, soaps and my room sprays. What one person think stinks, smells great to another.
This scents smells nice has good cold throw but a weak hot throw. It has a dominant apple tone to it.
The Fallen Leaves smells so much like fall. Selling very good in the melts. Love the smell, it is so refreshing.
I was expecting this to smell more woodsy. It smells nice, but does not invoke fall or outdoors to me.
Beautiful fragrance that my customers love and is selling fast. Smells expensive and upper end. I'm going to name it so it's not limited to fall and carry it into my Christmas line. It's organic smelling almost like a pile of leaves in a beautiful Forest
Nice soft scent. Used it in GB 464 and I like it, but the cold throw is much stronger than the hot throw. Shipping was great though
Mix it with some other scent like Juniper breeze, you will LOVE again and why waste what ya purchased?????
Mixes well with other fall scents, did HP, next I will try CP
Smells like a spiced cider, with hints of fall air, and leaves. My wife loves the melts I made with this. Great throw at 12% in PB600 wax.
While this is a nice smell. Manly smells like I walked into a that other candle shop, it's doesn't make me feel like it's fallen leaves.
Blended this fragrance with Cypress and Fireside and got the perfect "forest air" scent I was looking for.
Not a fan of this one AT ALL :( it has a strong overpowering scent that throws off the whole scent. Unfortunately purchased an 8oz bottle that I will not be using ..
I wanted something crisp and maybe even musty. This is more of a berry spice. Not a fan.
I purchased this in a 1oz out of curiosity and because I like the name of the fragrance. I tested it in soy wax at 8 % and let it cure for a week. I'm burning the candle as I'm writing this review. My entire house smells amazing. It's a warm and cozy scent that invites you to grab something hot to drink and just relax. I like it alot. Going to order a 16 oz bottle of this fragrance for candles and melts. Great job Candle Science!!!!
I love this new Fall scent, I used in soy 464 at 10 percent, and smells very nice! I was looking for something without pumpkin to add to my Fall scents, and I was very pleased with this scent, Its lighter, but some of my customers are looking for a lighter scent. I am pleased with my choice, and so are my customers.
This is the quintessential fall scent. It will be a staple in my line.
I just love this scent! Excellent for all applications especially in candles, melts and sprays. As always Candlescience provides the best!
At first, I wasn't impressed with Fallen Leaves in soy 464. But then I lit my test candle, left the house for an hour to go to a neighbors, (don't worry, there were other adults in the house) and when I walked back in, all I could smell was this glorious scent! It filled my large, open downstairs. A true Fall scent; warm and sweet and toasty.
My new favorite fall scent! I ordered just the sample size and the candles smelled so wonderful I know I just have to buy more!
This was a scent that you smelled in the bottle and said, ok nothing special. Mixed at 1 oz per pound with GW464 it has a great cold throw which you need for retail. The true test for me was burning it so i get repeat business. This did not disappoint. well done CS. for an added bonus or different scent, add a splash of fireside to get the bonfire smell
90% of the fragrance oils I order from this amazing company are spot on. Unfortunately I was not wowed by this one. Based on the name, I was expecting the smell of outdoors, damp leaves that fall from the trees in autumn. This one reminds me a lot of sugared fig fo. Very sweet. The upside is that it has a medium to strong hot throw.
I absolutely love this scent!! Reminds me of some smell in my childhood, when visiting old historical places in the fall time where they had horses and buggies, and you go in these older houses, and you just smell that nice fall scent. I can’t explain it, but this is a winner for me, I love it!!
Perfect for this time of the year.
Smells good but no hot throw in Soy 464.
This is a lovely fall scent, a balanced mixture of earthy and sweet. I disagree with the other reviews of it not being strong enough. I used 7% FO in 464 GB soy wax and it filled my home office with a strong aroma.
Disappointed with this scent. There’s no way I can sell this frnageance to my customers. Out of the bottle it smells great, however once poured it has almost no aroma and ZERO scent throw when lit.
I expected more of a leafy, earthy scent like fallen leaves are. Instead it is a sweet and spicy fragrance that’s similar to a pumpkin spice. So yes, it’s a fall like scent but it isn’t remotely close to what a pile of fallen leaves smell like.
I love this scent, but am super disappointed with the hot throw. Candle science has by far the best fragrance oils out of all the companies I have tried, but this scent is just not as strong. I have tested it with different ratios (wax/oil) and have used the maximum amount of oil I can use and still barely fills a room during a burn test.
Wow! Out of all the scents in my fall line, this one captures the essence of fall most perfectly. It is light, earthy, sweet, and clean all at once. The best way to describe it is breezy. It does not have the strongest throw, but it is a great seller nonetheless.
This is a strong, complex scent with lots of spice as you would find in a jar of pumpkin butter. A definitively autumn fragrance. From the bottle, I found it a very masculine scent, not unlike Old Spice. A bit much for me, but worth a try if that appeals to you.
I got this as a free sample with my order and I'm going to purchase a bigger bottle ASAP! It smells like a walk through the autumn forest with spices and it gives the general feeling of Fall. One of my new favorites!
I love the smell of crisp, dry leaves and that is what I get from this fragrance. Scent preference is so subjective, but one thing I really appreciated about this fragrance is that it did NOT contain an overbearing amount of cinnamon. In fact, the cinnamon was used to bring out the leaf notes. So, I respectfully disagree with the other reviewer's assessment of this fragrance as generic and "cinnamon drug store-ish." It is very earthy, so I also don't understand the comment about it being plastic-y. I might combine Fallen Leaves with a Smoked Birch fragrance I have on hand, or perhaps even a Firewood fragrance with a 3:1 ratio of Fallen Leaves to one of the other two fragrances I mentioned.
I can definitely smell this one very strongly out of the bottle. We all have different senses of smell. I, for the life of me, cannot smell anything but alcohol, for example, when I sniff BBW Cherry Blossom. This may be a fragrance like that (?); it may not register with everyone. Anyway, it seems to be getting mixed reviews, so I'm not sure what the fate will be for Fallen Leaves. But if it ever went on clearance due to it being out-of-favor with CS audience, you bet I'd take the opportunity to stock up on it! This would be a great blending fragrance!
I just recieved my first candlescience order, and all of the FO I recieved I was very very satisfied with!— except this one... I was a litte disappointed, because it smells like a very generic, artificial half-cinnamon/half-plastic scent that I can imagine smelling in a cheap drugstore candle during Oct... it throws well in a reed diffuser (which is what I used it for).... So nothing against the quality, but a warning that it doesn’t smell super leafy...
I think this smells amazing....when I can smell it. It is very light, however because it smells so good when I CAN smell it, I want to purchase more. It is a very nice, subtle Fall fragrance, and I suppose all candle lines need a variety of "room filling" and "subtle" scents for all customers.
The smell is great, it just doesn't throw very well in my waxmelts. It is also over taken very easy by fresh air movement or AC, my other scents you can still smell if a window is open or AC is running, this scent just disappears totally. I wish it worked because I really like the scent.
I’m not quite sure what it is about this fragrance but it is fantastic. You definitely get the autumn leaves, it’s sweet, nutty and warm. I have very high hopes for this being a top seller this fall in our tart line in GB 464 Soy Wax. I will have to make an entire batch just for myself. Fall in a bottle.
I'm glad you have this one. I was looking for something not toooo foody. Its perfect for my fall line up. I wasn't sure at first, cold throw is great so far using coconut soy wax.
I just received this scent today and so far, I’m not too impressed. I was hoping for more of a “Leafy” scent. It’s not a bad scent and I will test it to see if I like it in the wax. I guess the verdict hasn’t come in yet!
I’m only going out of the bottle smell test and will update if I change my mind.
