Product Update:

You may see some variation in the wax coating on the wick due to different coating processes. The variance of the wax coating on the wick has no impact on the burn of the candle.

About the LX Series
LX wick is a specially braided flat wick which maintains a slight curl when burning. The curl moves the tip of the wick into the hottest part of the flame, which helps to minimize or eliminate carbon buildup (mushrooming), reduce smoking, and provide a 'self-trimming' effect, which creates a very stable and consistent flame. LX wicks are lead and zinc free.

Love these!

I’m sorry to see others have had issues, but these are performing wonderfully with my soy/paraffin blended wax! The wick curls, just as described, and I have minimal smoking. I’ll be using them, often.

I bought the wicks LX 24 6" Pretabbed Wickand the truth is, I am completely disappointed because they release a lot of smoke and do not allow the fragrance of the candle to be smelled. It is the wick that you advise for IGI 4627, it is impossible to use, and it leaves a lot of smoke. I am not satisfied with this product.

Lots of carbon build up

I have always used CD wicks, but thought I would try these because they were recommended here on the site. I am not a fan of these wicks at all. There was all kinds of carbon build up. If I didn’t extinguish the candle constantly and get rid of it, it fell into the wax pool. Money wasted!

Caused mushrooming when used with the Libbey straight sided tumbler jar (from CS), 9 oz wax and 10% FO. Will wick down and see if it works better.

Won’t buy again

I bought these because the reviews were so good. I haven’t had the same luck with them as the other reviewers. These wicks put off so much smoke when lit and then after I blow them out. I have cut the wicks before each use and trimmed before lighting it. I have set my smoke alarm off, not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES I HAVE SET THE FIRE ALARM OFF. Needless to say I won’t be buying them again as I cannot well these to customers.

I have tried about 8 different wicks for my soy/paraffin blend. Everything mushroomed, caused soot buildup, or burned unevenly. I was immediately drawn to these wicks and I'm glad I trusted my instincts! They saved my candles just in time for the holidays. I use a 26oz. Jar that's 4" in diameter and they burn perfectly!

I just went through my first bag of 1000. It was such a pleasure using these LX wicks from CandleScience. This was the neatest bag of 1000 wicks that I have ever received. I have been so frustrated purchasing in bulk from another candle supplier because the wicks were always so badly crushed and mangled. If I bought in 100 packs to get wicks in good condition, they were too expensive for the volume that I do. CandleScience has my wick business - at least - from now on.
