OOB this oil has STRONG top notes of Jim Beam. Yes, it smells like whiskey in oil form. I put 10 drops + a tbsp of EcoSoya CB Adv Soy wax into a tart warmer, & when warm, I smelt NO whiskey, & beautiful blackberry notes came to life. I don't think it "reeked of Xmas" at all, just clean & ripe yet mellow blackberries w/ a hint of spice. I've never thought of a berry scent to be soothing before, but this one is. I didn't give 5 stars cuz the hot throw could be stronger for my taste (I like scents that knock me over). Don't judge this OOB. This can pass for a year-round beautiful blackberry scent.

I have to agree with the person in an earlier review that mentioned this scent smelling quote on quote, Christmasy. While curing, the cold scent reminded me so much of Winter/Christmas which I honestly didn't like at all! I am not a fan of holiday scents and I was very frustrated with the scent. After a few weeks of curing, the holiday spice smell calmed down a lot and it started to smell more berry like which was a good sign for me. While burning, it smells nice and berry like but I can still smell that holiday spice type of smell in the hot throw. I like the smell while burning, though I wish this was a pure berry scent without the spice notes.

I ordered this after reading the great reviews it had gotten. When I had opened the bottle I thought it smelled strong and not very berry like. Thinking that it might smell differently in my candles I tried it and I was wrong. It was overpowering and gave me a headache. I have enjoyed other scents from this company but definitely not this one!

I bought this scent because I am a Berry fan. I love the scents of all berries. But when I opened the bottle, the smell cought me off guard. It reeks of christmas to me.

I am very impressed with this scent. Along with all the other scents I have purchased from CandleScience, this one is awesome. Very Blackberry. Excellent hot and cold throw. I made some candles for myself but they did not last long, I sold at all, even my friend have one in his car!!I love it!!!
